Remove the negative battery terminal for a few minutes, that will reset most car's trouble codes.

Have you checked for trouble codes? 1990-'95 Hondas are On Board Diagnostics-first generation, or OBD-1, and the trouble code retrieval is do-it-yourself easy. The two digit codes flash out on the check engine light. Here is how to do it, and a description of each code: http://www.2carpros.com/articles/honda-car-1990-1995-obd1-code-retrieval-procedure-and-definition-table.

Sorry but I can't make out what that picture shows.

I have a 1990 accord, my fuel economy is low, a check engine light turn on, when i accelerate dark smoke comes out the back, any thoughts?

Yes hook up to a code reader pull out trouble codes and follow steps in trouble shooting tree to repair problem. If you dont have a code reader or scan tool go to a parts store (Auto Zone,Pep boys) they will hook up and read codes out. They will try to steer you in the direction to go or just write down the codes and Google them in your computer and you will get list after list of how to fix the problem.

On a honda civic the coils are on top of each spark plug, there are four of them on the civic and they are best replaced around 100,000 miles or when the engine has a trouble code, misfire.

Low power and acceleration on 1990 honda accord

Sounds like a bad motor bearing. Not good news. With all spark plugs out and belts to alternator, power steering, air conditioner, etc., loose, rotate the motor by hand to see if it's free.

1990 honda accord surges at idle, what can cause this?

It is likely a vacuum leak (from a hose or the intake manifold), or a sensor is not working properly (like the throttle position sensor, MAF sensor, idle air control ).
Spray carburetor cleaner around suspect areas to find a vacuum leak. The spray will be sucked into engine and raise idle. Spray around the intake manifold where it mates to head for leaks there.
Also check for trouble codes. Maybe a sensor threw a trouble code.
Good luck.
