This is one of the most frusterating things to do because of the very limited space inside the engine, but you will have to remove the radiator the fan blade, all the hoses, the balancer, move the alternator, remove the timing belt cover and all the serpentine belts, remove the timing belt "MARK THE BELT WHERE IT ORIGINALY WAS OR YOU WILL MESS THE TIMING UP AND POSSIBLY THE ENGINE!!!", Remove water pump the reinstall new one, the assemble everything back together!! GOOD LUCK ITS A PAIN IN THE @$$!!!!

If your gonna put a new water pump in, you'll hafta take the timing belt off, go ahead and buy a new timing belt(this is very important, should be changed every 60,000 miles anyways, if it breaks it will bend every valve in the motor)....i recommend a dayco belt because it has timing marks made on to the belt...basically it is idiot proof.... there is a mark on each of the 3 gears......looking from the front of the engine the mark on the cam gear on the left will be at approx. the 9:00 position.......the mark on the cam gear to the right will be at approx. the 2:00 position, and the mark on the crank gear will be approx. 5:00 position.... there are 4 white lines on a dayco timing belt.... the line with the arrows goes between the cam gears.. arrows pointing to the front of the vehicle...when tight the belt should flex about 3/8 of an inch when you push down on it between the cam gears........ good luck

How do you remove and install a water pump on a 1995 Nissan pathfinder?

big job you will have to remove the timing belt to do it so you might as well change it since you will have it off,but i don' t recommend just any body do it as you will need metric bolt puller set to remove the crank pulley, but mostly you remove the radiator shroud and everything in the way of the plastic belt covers as they have to come off to access belt and water pump.its about four hour job with professional tools.

1995 Nissan pathfinder over heating blowing cold air.

Sounds like either your thermostat, which is the least expensive and easiest thing to change, or your water pump, or clogged radiator, which is a whole new world! The reason it wont blow hot, is because you are not getting any water to the heater core. Hope this helps.

Waterpump

Simply, You must replace the water pump, the same thing happened to me and the water pump had to be replaced, If you can, replace it yourself because its a pain and im sure it will cost you if taken to a mechanic, also go to any aouto parts store and buy the water pump yourself, you will save money doing so
