Question about 2009 Ford F-150

1 Answer

After a long day in the woods, my crew and I got back into the 2009 Ford Escape and it wouldn't turn on. I got the red LOCK light that states the anti-theft device was triggered. The manual also gavea remedy but that did not work. The manual also says 'take it to a dealer'. DUH! how? I had to leave the vehicle out in the woods overnight, we had to find an alternative ride home - 2.5 hours away. I'm headed out again this morning. any suggestions? Liz US Forest Service

You could try to unplug the battery to reset, not sure if the anti-theft has an internal battery.

The key lock wont turn

One of the tumbler blades has been pushed out farther than normal due to the cut of the wrong key. WD40 the lock inserting the tube into it. Put in the correct key and jiggle it while trying to turn key back and forth. Repeat as necessary. If after multiple attempts don't work (be patient) then tap the outside of the lock where you insert the key with a block if wood or small hammer. The vibration is what will allow the tumbler blade to slip back into place.

I have a 2009 Ford Escape that intermittently will not start. I bought it used from the dealer for my daughter to drive to school which is a couple of miles from home. This is what happens. I put the key...

Believe it or not I have found that one key will start my 2009 Ford escape and the other will not-even after replacing the battery in the key. I though it was a dead battery or possibly the starter but it is the key. I haven't figured out how to get the key repaired. Thank God I had a spare one!

I am putting a carseat in the passenger side of an 02 ford escape how do I disengage the airbag

Thanks for choosing FixYa and welcome to the site. This model does not have the air bag option. If you choose to disengage, both airbags will be off. You may want to have it removed. I wouldn't choose to cut wires because it could be deployed. I do have some information on disengaging it if you are interested, but like I said, both airbags will be off.
