My 1998 Dodge Neon RT, has the same problem. When I took the dash apart you can see that the instrument pannel doesn't sit in as far as it needs to to get the electrical connected all the way. It's just not plugged in all the way... mine won't fit in far enough to get it connected so sometimes they work sometimes no, but you should check to see if that is the prob. with yours before you shell out the dinero!

I have this same problem. Under the hood inside the fuse box, the fuse that controls the guages in mounted in a holder. If you remove the fuse and just reinsert it the problem goes away. It will intermittantly reoccur. The fuse isn't the problem, seems as if it is loose in the socket and by reinserting it the connection is back.

My 1998 Dodge Neon RT has the same prob. I took the dash apart and found that the instrument pannel didn't sit in far enoughfor the electrical to connect all the way... so basically it's not plugged in all the way. The connections wiggle loose, sometimes my gauges work sometimes they don't. You might want to see if that is your prob. before you shell out money on it. Mine just doesn't fit right so I just don't worry about it. Push them on as much as possible every once and a while but that's it.

2002 Dodge Neon automatic transmission sometimes doesn't shift out of first gear

You will first need the TCM (computer) scanned for fault codes. If none show up then then try changing the transmission fluid and filter inside the transmission, if that doesn't work it is time to have an expert diagnose the issue. The TCM scan will need a special scanner, not the one that parts stores use to scam the engine computer (PCM)

My 2002 neons tempature gauge will only rise sometimes.Been happening for a week now

Check the connection to the gauge temperature sensor sender, it may be loose or making a poor connection.
If no fault found with above connections, the next step would be to replace the gauge temperature sensor unit.
