Ya, do a water leak test with your garden hose. Find where its leaking, and replace that section or all of the weather stripping on the trunk. I had the same problem. I also have the same car, haha. Its very easy and in expensive to do, just need the weather striping and the adheasive and may be some silcne sealant. Beef it up, make sure its leak free. Do a post test with the garden hose and check for leakage. If it is leaking just beef it up somemore.Peace

The seal for your trunk is worn out. the auto parts store should have some weather stripping your can buy and replace it.

SOURCE: leak in the trunk when it rains. Requires no

generally the trunk lid gasket will show a distinct contact mark on it. Any portion that seems to be too clean likely is not sealing properly. If everything seems to be OK, have a friend (that you can trust) close you in the trunk with a flashlight and spray the trunk with a garden hose, you then can inspect from the inside. Repair is dependent upon what you find. Many trunks have a release inside...if you have one find it before doing the inside test.

SOURCE: the trunk is leaking rain into the interior

buy some foam spray from a can spray it around trunk seam bottom not trunk lid. close trunk to let it dry and shape foam. also check for any holes in trunk. remove all padding to look for wholes. spray foam into any holes found. this foam can also be trimmed after it dries and hardens.

Condensation inside trunk

You can also have a leak around one of the tail lights, or the rear window seal.
You may need the help of a good body shop to find the problem.

Check the channel that surrounds the trunk opening for dirt and debris. That water should be draining off before you open the trunk. Also check for interference from the trunk gasket or a damaged gasket

!991 buick park avenue. the trunk fills with water during heavy rains..resealing rear window didn't help..where in the heck is the drain plug for the trunk..if any?

There is no drain plug. For the leaks be certain to investigate: sunroof drains, taillight seals, and the trunk seal. Many trunk seals actually channel water into the trunk. New designs are available on many GMs.

After it rains water is in trunk Nissan Altima

When diagnosing a water leak, here's a handy tip. Check the accumulated water. If the water is dirty, look for leaks from the underside of the vehicle (floor, wheelwells, etc). If the accumulated water is clean, look for leaks from the topside of the vehicle (trunk seal, window seal, etc). To find where the water is coming from, shut yourself in the trunk with a flashlight and have an assistant run water over the trunk with a garden hose. You may have to remove some of the interior trunk trim to see exactly were the water is coming from, but chances are you'll find it. Also another common cause of water leaks are from impact damage, so check for collision damage repair. while your in there. -hope this helps.

Mother nature is too slow in finding leaks. Have someone small get in the trunk with a flashligh and watch as you run a hose over everything. LET THE PERSON OUT!

Lexus ES300 trunk leaks when it rains

This may sound odd but if you can put a small person in the trunk with a flashlight while you pour water in the areas suspected, they can trace the leaking area, believe it or not I used to use this method while I was a Ford mechanic. Otherwise, maybe you can apply clear or black silicone to the area or remove the screw or bolt and coat it with silicone and replace it.

The rear window seal may be leaking into the trunk. The window may need to removed to fix it correctly then you can see if there is rust holes in that area.
