Question about 2007 GMC Acadia SLE

Open Question

This Morning I started my Acadia up and for the first time my Navigation display was totally black. The radio was on, but I have no controls. I can not shut off the radio, adjust the volume from steering wheel or by the volume knob, and I can not change from radio to any other option such as CD or IPod. What happened? Can this be fixed? Is this something that can be fixed without having to go to a dealer?

SOURCE: 2005 gmc truck steering wheel radio control lights

If this is the lights for the switches in the steering wheel, these are LED's. The switches are made in such a way that it is prudent to replace the switch rather than try to take it apart and replace the LED. The switches are relatively inexpensive and are very easy to replace. While the LED's are rather inexpensive, the time that it would take to get the switch apart, replace the LED and then attempt to put it all back together is not worth the twenty to thirty bucks for a new switch.

I have replaced three of the four that are in my steering wheel. The hardest part to the whole thing is making the wiring connection in the back of the switch for the two large ones on the center crossbar. My fingers aren't quite slim enough to make the connection easily. I found using a pair of hemostats or some type of thin clamp with a handle works very well.

Locked message all of a sudden on the sound system screen. and i cant opearte anything neither CD nor radio.???? how to solve the problem.

Hi! If your truck has navigation radio ( with option code UZR), I'm afraid your radio needs to be programmed to the latest calibration. The scratches and blemishes on various media discs usually causes this condition. The latest calibration has a certain program to address this issue. I hope it works on your radio and show improvments. Okay, sir? goodluck. : )

Gmc Acadia 2007 the navigation system freezes and I have to turn off the engine and restart it. This keeps happening each time I start up the car. Can you help

gmc Acadia 2007 the navigation system freezes. Hi, viewer! Actually there is no quick fix for your concern. I can only give info for this kind of issue. Everytime you turn off the engine, your just resetting the sytem and will keep on repeating. Im afraid your radio/navigation system needs to be programmed to the latest calibration update. kindly check with your dealer to confirm if your radio partnumber is included among the bulletin lists. goodluck... : )

It is actually located behind the navigation screen.

Turn off the radio.
Press and hold the CD eject button until the display unlocks (about 10 to 15 seconds).
Let screen move outward and rotate downward.
Press the DVD eject button just exposed behind the display.
Remove DVD, insert new one.
Rotate display upwards and press gently on all four corners to slide and lock display back into original position.
Turn on radio, navigation DVD should start update process, let it finish.
