I'll have it tuned up tom and hopefully it helps. What wire, plug do i need to check? How about the boots? Do you think the misfire causes my RPM to get too high? Because the ignition timing failed during the smog check also due to high RPM. my NOX measured 558 at 15mph but the maximum allowed is just 459. Appreciate!

Check your plug, wire, and especially the boots, if theyre cracked they can cause your spark to arc and create your misfire in that cylinder. You may need simply a tune up for that matter.

i think the misfire and the high rpms are different issues. the misfire, check like I told you, check the plug, wire, boot on the cylinder you got the misfire....
Is it idling a constant rpm or does it fluctuate? Try adjusting the idle down, if that dosnt work it sounds like an idle sensor is bad.

How to fix and find code P0302 cylinder2

This code means that engine cylinder #2 is not carrying its load, it is a misfire. The cause of this can be fuel, ignition or engine mechanical problems like no compression. So there is no one answer, all must be checked and diagnosed.

2002 Mitsubishi Galant P0300 Intermitent Miss between 2500-3000 rpm

Have you checked fuel pressure? Random misfires (0300) are usually related to fuel, spark, or compression issues-one of those is not right.

2001 mitsubishi galant,2.4L eng. Getting DTC 421. Is this code related to the catalytic converter? Check eng. light always on, also DTC 302 showing.

DTC code P0421 is the O2 sensor that indicates a an issue with the Catalytic Converter. Replace the O2 sensor to the Catalytic Converter "the one after Converter" It's common for the sensor to fail and you can pick one up from Auto Zone and they will have the step by step instructions to replacing the O2 sensor.
DTC code P0302 Indicates a misfire on cylinder #2. Address the spark plug, spark plug wire, and injector. Look for any damages and try running some fuel injector cleaner through the fuel system to clean out the injectors.
Good luck and hope this helps.
