I can not get my alarm to turn off without the remote, and my remote just died. The battery is still good, but I can't get the remote to work. If I try to manually open the door, the alarm goes off and it won't stop, even if i put the key in the ignition and turn the car on. How can I disable the alarm!??!! STRESSFUL!

First what car is this, please?

Is the alarm a factory item, or a retro-fit?

Why have you not yet asked at least a qualified workshop, if not a main dealer?

SOURCE: new battery, can't reset alarm

remove the alarm, their might be a passive switch on the alarm to turn it off with a special key,if you dont have the key break the lock so you can turn it off or try to open case of alarm and look at wires and then dertimine which ones to join or break, every alarm inside is different so you will have to work it out.

SOURCE: door ajar light is staying on, can not lock doors once key in ign

Hi, my name is adam. By the way your descrpion says, you are having difficulty with the door ajar. My solution is to take a pink eraser and clean off the sensors on each door. Sometimes road dirt and grime get in there and screw it up. Thank you.

Not enough info to properly answer but the battery in the remote might be dying and causing it to malfunction!

Remote died and the alarm keeps going off, replaced battery to remote and the alarm is still going off

Try having the key in the 'on' position then disconnect the engine battery for two minutes , reconnect and check system.

Battery in the remote died and now the alarm keeps going off when we try to do anything. we replaced the battery in the remote but the car won't start and the alarm keeps going on

When the alarm goes off, it disables the starter circuit. You'll want to have your key fob (remote) checked for proper operation at an authorized Hyundai Service Department. If you inserted the new battery in backwards, the remote will not work. It also needs to be the remote originally programmed for the vehicle.

I have an 08 Jeep Liberty that has a remote starter on the key. I tried to unlock the car with the remote, however, that didn't work, so I unlocked the car with the key. The alarm went off, I tried pushing...

Sounds like you have a key without the chip in it. Replacement keys without the chip will only unlock the doors and will activate the theft alarm when you start the vehicle.

Battery died on remote. No spare battery, how can get into the car without the alarm going off

put key in lock and hold over for 30 secs, then unlock car normally and car should start, without alarm going off.as long as car recognises key(s) all part of the anti theft system.

How to turn off the alarm manually without any use of a remote control

If the alarm is a "factory" alarm, cycle the key in the ignition from off to on (where the dash indicators light up), 5 times. This is the reset proceedure for the "factory" alarm.

1998 town n country alarm/ start problems

This may or may not help. Hopefully it will. We recently purchased this 1998 chrysler town & country. Everything was working fine, started fine, etc. we took it to get emissions done.....passed emissions.. .made it home. i turned the car off to run inside for a minute. came back out car started.. ran for 3 seconds than died out. tried again... ran for 3 seconds than died out... after that it no longer would do anything. all the lights worked except in the ignition module. the top dashboard lights worked though. I then noticed that the "alarm set" light stayed lit. after replacing fuses and running an OBD test and found no trouble codes or issues with fuses it dawned on me it may be the alarm. after searching the internet for hours i found a forum that suggested unplugging the battery for about 5 minutes....rehook it and then try starting it again. well i tried doing that the first time using the REMOTE to unlock the doors and nothing happened. i locked the doors and repeated the same battery unhook-rehook process except without using the remote... (i noticed a lot of forums saying that the remotes can be deffective in that they somehow trigger the alarm if the transmitter is not working properly)... so after unhooking and rehooking the battery and using only the key to unlock it started right up! so i've decided to not use the remote at all and have had no other problems. let me know if this helps
