Question about 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee

1 Answer

I own a Jeep Grand Cherokee 2003 CRD 2.7 Diesel. My problem: I drove one hot day and my powersteering just dissapeared. I have replaced new powersteering pump, checked my new fanbelt, but my powersteering is still not working. Can you please advise me as what to do? I have checked the oil flow through the radiator. Is there any sensors or valves that I need to check?

If you've replaced the power steering pump to no avail, then i would look towards a bad power steering rack. the rack could be clogged or just a bad power steering rack, located under the jeep. at the center of the front end under the motor, just to rear of the engine.do you see it leaking at any point? if the pumps good, then i would go to the rack next.however i can suggest this if you choose to.these guys are great about helping people, call 1-865-691-3400 it's just jeeps

Grand Cherokee a non-starter

Check the glow plug rail, Its easy to do, get a thick electric cable and hold it on the positive side of the battery and then onto the Rail connecting the glow plugs, do this for 20-30 seconds and try to start the engine, or better still get a friend to start the engine while you hold the cable on.
Diesel engines work on heat and compression, so if your glow plugs are weak then you wont get the heat needed to create combustion.
