Need diagram, of cam timing! and are thay a zero spin motor( is it posabull to bend the valves if cam timeing was wrong?)

The 97 Mitsubishi 3.5 v-6 engine is an interference engine, so if the belt broke while running it has damaged valves.

id go to your countries, Suzuki dealer and buy the FSM book for your car. I would
or try to find an India based Suzuki forum.and ask.

the belt needs to be timed and on some engine (twin cam for sure)
if done wrong you wreck the head valves, done wrong.
bends them and $1000 cost to fix. so dont guess. or go broke fast.

Why does my car have no compression all cylinders?

Sounds like either something has completely obstructed the air flowing into the engine which is unlikely or your Timing belt skipped and bent all the Valves on one Camshaft or both. Pull the Timing Covers off and see if the timing marks line up when on #1 Cylinder is on Top Dead Center. If they are not on a 98 and older you will have bent Valves. On the 99 and newer the exhaust cam has a Variable Timing hub and the cam could have turned leaving the timing marks in place and bending the exhaust Valves. Sorry for the bad news.

You need a factory repair manual. Don't risk getting the wrong answer from here. If you do it wrong you can bend valves and you will have to start all over again.

Need to know timing chain installation on 1999 Suzuki Grand Vitara

Go to Auto Zone and get a repare manual to see how it is installed. Chances are, if that timing chain broke, the crank could've kept spinning, making the pistons hit the valves then bending them. This would happen if your engine is an interfearance-motor, an interfearance-motor is were the valves are really close to the pistons, this is done so the motor gets more horse-power. The timing chain keeps the cam and the crank shaft in time with eachother so the pistons don't hit the valves. Alot of compact cars and import cars and trucks of the 90s and up have these kind of motors in them. Therefore, you may have to get a valve job done by taking the heads off and bringing them in to some kind of repair shop.

the only special tools you need are a harmonic balancer puller, and a gear puller (for the cam sprocket), you are probally going to have to remove, the altanator, your belts, a motor mount, timing convers, water pump, and maybe a couple other accessries im missing, as far as what else to change, the water pump, and serpentine belt should always be done with the timing, its not a really hard job, its just tedious, a lot of nuts and bolts, you should not have to readjust anything in the system, unless you motor is what is called an inteference motor, in which case, when the timing belt broke, the piston came up and hit the valves bending them so they dont close properly, which will cause you to have little or no compression on one or some of the cylinder, the best was to check it is while you have the motor stripped down and the belt ready to put back in, it to turn the cam to isolate 1 cylinder at a time close the valves on the cylinder, then put a compression tool on it and turn the crank, if your valves are working properly, you will get some compression from the test, zero compression means bad valves or rings.

Thinking about buying a 2002 Galant but it needs a timing belt its a 4cyl.just need to know if it is a zero tolerance motor. to see if it may have bent valves.thank you!

remode all plugs and turn the motor over by hand
that will tell you if it a zero tol motor
remember to insert 1 plug at a time to see is the piston has compression and make sure if you fine a bad cyl to spin the cam a couple of degres to make sure it is just open valves and not bent or broken valves

if for some reason with plugs all out and motor will not turn then it is a zero tol motor and will likely need a head job with the timing belt

I replace a timing belt and valves on ford puma but it's keep on bending the valves,and i change the engine and after a day or two did bend the valves for the therd time any 1 know why?

we had the same problem in our garage. You need to use the correct timing locking tools for the crank and cams. You need to make sure that the bolt holding the crank pully is as tight as hell and the cams and once youve tightened then up check them again with the locking tools, if they're wrong undo the cams and do it again and again until its perfect.

Timing belt

not to worry. if timing belt broke your engine is fine. it is an overhead cam engine. although there is a good chance depending on your motor size. that one of the composite sprockets the belt runs on broke also. it is common.
