How do you remove the rear axle or hub on a 1990 f700

Remove the nuts holding the axle to the hub. remove the lock washers. Hit the center of the axle with a 10lbs or 20lbs sledge hammer (careful not to hit axle studs) to break it free. Take a small screw driver and work wedged split cones between axle and axle studs out. Then axle can be removed.

remove wheel on side. remove brake caliper/brakes, disconnect lower ball joint, remove axle shaft hub nut. push axle out of hub, then pull half shaft out of transmission. install reverse.

Rear axle seal leaking f250 6.0 4x4 2005

if you have a semi-floating axle ie an axle that the axle bearing is pressed on you have to remove the wheel, remove caliper if disc brakes and remove a retaining plate that holds the axle bearing in position. pull out the axle and the seal will be left in the axle housing. Replace and reverse procedures. If you have a full floating axle you have to remove the axle from the hub undo tha axle bearing nuts amnd if disc remove caliper or if drum pull the hub of the axle. The seal will be in the back of the hub as in a truck. you will need some mechanical knowledge so if you are unsure get a mechanic to advise you

Frozen axle to hub

Spray plenty of penatrating fluid on it, support strut with 2x4 against frame so you dont break trans pounding axle into it, and use a B F Hammer to shock it or try a gear/pulley puller. Good luck. Also you car remove wheel bearing from strut and pull axle out as 1 unit then break it free on a bench or just replace both. Good luck and I hope this helps you out.

Removal and installation of the hub and bearing 2002 dodge caravan

This hub bearing is a complete asm, it bolts on and not like some older cars where the bearing and seals are separte and must be pressed in and out with the spindle removed. to replace the bearing hub remove the tire and then remove the brake caliper, this is done by removing the two caliper bolts and then pull off and hang of to the side. next remove the brake rotor the rotr may slide right of or may need to be banged on with a hmmer to break it free, with the rotor off next remove the center axle nut on the cv axle this if in the center front as you look at the front of it, next on the rear you will see four bolts that need to be removed, look at the new hub asm to see the bolt holes to give you an idea on the bolt location, you can see the bolt holes from the front of the hub after removing the bolts you will then use a hammer to bang on the hub to break it free from the sindle, the bearing comes out the front, heres a picture of the hub bearing to helps.johnjohn2_57.jpg

First, I don't recommend replacing the boot unless you know exactly when it split (such as off roading yesterday) Dirt gets into the joint and even if cleaned they become unreliable. (You can get a remanufactured complete axle assembly or a scrapyard unit at reasonable cost.
Removal begins with the nut on the axle end. (very tight at about 175 foot lbs). Once that is free, remove the brake claiper and rotor. Next, remove the three twelve point bolts behind the bearing hub.
(I use a sacrificial socket and run the bolts out about half an inch and use a hammer to drive them back in to break the hub free) Once the hub is out, you can pull the axle out of the differential right through the hub opening.
Install is the reverse of removal BUT support the axle when putting it back in as there is a seal deep inside the axle tube next to the gear set. If you drag the axle end, you can knock it out and diff lube will begin to leak from the open end of the tube when you drive.
One tip: when doing these, I generally disconnect the tie rod end from the steering knuckle. It makes it easier to work as then you can turn the assembly from side to side to get at the hub bolts.

Replacing front hub assembly

remove the wheel, then remove the caliper and tie of to the side, slide rotor off, remove the axle nut, remove the lower balljiont nut, use a balljoint sperater tool to break balljoint free from spindle, using a long pry bar pull down on lower control arm to remove from spindle, pull spindle out to pull axle out of spindle, next tie spindle out of the way of axle, use a pry bar in between rear axle joint and trany give a pull to break free from trany and pull out. reverse to install. hope this helps.

How to change my front differential seal and bearing ? passenger side. I bought a new wheel bearing because of a humming sound on passenger side and doing so saw leaking seal and maybe the humming was...

That will be a Huge job. The whole front diff must come out of the car and the case will need to be taken apart to even gain acess to the carrier side bearings.
The hub bearing is where the wheel bolts up is that maybe what you are talking about?
Also the axle seal isn't that bad to do you need to remove the cv shaft then it's just a simple remove the seal and install the new one.
But all of these jobs will be big ones.

How do i remove the front left axle?

to remove your front axles also known as cv axles you have to pull your brake caliper and rotor off. Then you have to break your hub assembly nut that holds the cv axle tight to the hub assembly. Then you have to bust loose your upper and lower ball joints. After then its 4 or 6 bolts where your cv axle attachs to your front differental.

Front axle shaft u-joint replacement.

Remove the brake assy. Remove the rotor. Remove the big axle nut. There should be 3 bolts that hold the hub bearing assy in place. Remove those bolts. Tap the hub bearing assy. off. Pull the axle shaft out.
