What are the engine timing specs for a 1989 Ford Festiva please ?

I have got Ford Fiesta -89 (European), and there is a Distributorless Ignition System, DIS, behind the motor. Haynes & co`s repair book says you can`t control it, it need special tool(s). So maybe to Ford garage?
I am interestning for that too, there is selling gasoline with 10 % ethanol, so it`s octane is higher.

Need to know how to adjust valves on 1989 ford festiva l

They are self adjusting. There should be hydraulic lash adjusters. Just tighten down the camshaft and start it. If you installed new lifters, they need to be soaked in oil before installing or they will be full of air and the car probably won't start. Hope this is what you were looking for.

89 ford festiva l wont go into 5th gear how do i fix it

88 - 89 festiva "L" models came with a 4 speed. Unless it has been swapped with a 5 speed from an 88 - 89 "LX" or a 90 - 93 festiva 4 gears is all you have. Everything you ever wanted to know about your festiva can be found a fordfestiva.com. I've seen 8 festivas with 500,000 miles now. They are bullet proof and big time fun. Easy to work on too. And most owners are really down to earth because we don't care what people think of us. Festivas are also easy and cheap to make very fast. Get on the forum. We will welcome you!
