The person(s) who serviced your alarm should be able to tell you if you have siren or horn type.. We have NO idea what alarm system you have..Volvo has many alarm systems. Ti reset you service light you need an OBII scanner - You can have any good shop or auto parts store do it for you.

How to reset the alarm siren after changing the battery?

It would be a good idea to have it scanned at the dealer because some can have sensors inside the door and at the roof area and all around the car because it is a theft alarm...,They can be a difficult project !!!!! If you KNOW everything is well connected and was replaced correctly The system should reset itself each time the battery is reconnected......Save time and have the alarm system scanned..

Hi, my house alarm ready light is not on since I opened the anti tamper box, when the box opened the alarm went off, I put in the entrance code number, the alarm went quiet, since then the ready light

Hi Terry,
Most alarm systems require you to reset the tamper alarm.
Most systems will reset the tamper simply by arming the system and then immediately disarming the system. However, you MUST make sure that the Tamper circuit you tripped is closed. If you removed the cover on the panel, make sure the tamper switch for the cover is in the correct position and that the cover is pressing the switch and closing its contacts. If you are trying to arm the panel with a cover off, the tamper circuit will not reset unless you defeat the tamper switch. Just make sure you remove the defeat when you replace the cover. You may also wish to try a google search on the type and model of panel you have so you can download a copy of the manual to check on the reset procedure. We also need to know what brand and model the panel is so we can help you further..

How do i disable the alarm siren on a volvo s80 as it goes of all the time ?

It is on a system that cannot be disabled. The siren has gone bad and needs to be replaced. Check your dealer for a new siren. The odds of finding a good one in a salvage yard are very slim.

Alarm siren and sunroof not working. Replacing alarm siren did not fix it.

Whenever this warning light or any other stays on in the dash it is indicating that the systems control module (or the system sensor in the case of lights like low oil pressure, door open indicators etc.) has detected a fault, it then disables the system (this applies to ABS,TCS, TCM, SRS and BCM faults and others) as long as the light is on. You must now have the dealer hook up a special electronic diagnostic tool and "scan" the system for the fault code that is stored for the problem(s)

Alarm keeps setting of the indicators but no siren when you lock with the remote. then we get va mesage saying get alarm system serviced.

You need to reset the security program. You can find it in your owner manual. If not, you need to call your local dealership.

My 2004 volvo xc90 says alarm system service required. any ideas on how to diagnose or any common problems

I had the same problem on my 04 XC90 - apparently it is a common failure... You need to replace a Siren module.

I can't get my sunroof to close. my message board

Most likely the alarm siren module has failed. The alarm module is wired in series with the sunroof module. If the alarm siren fails (and it does) it will take the sunroof module offline with it.

What I would do is to unplug the module and cycle the key. If it is the siren module the sunroof will work. If it still doesn't work then it could be a wiring problem and would need to be taken to a trusted shop for repairs.

Here is a link to a website that will show detailed instructions on how to remove the alarm module.

After the module is disconnected you may need to reinitilize the UEM. Get in the car and shut the door.

For most you can turn the key on and off, then lock and unlock the car with the remote.

For others just lock and unlock the car three times.

I hope this helps.

Its most likely your siren module.

It is located in the right fender well just behind the wheel liner.

Remove the R/F wheel, remove the torx 25 screws, pull the liner to the rear and you can see it right there above the liner.

To remove the siren module...it uses a sheer bolt, which unfortunately you'd need to either drill it out, or use a dremel to slice a slot to get a screw driver in to remove the sheer bolt.
