It is worth removing and checking the air idle valve, they do become sticky and blocked sometimes, this will cause some noticeable loss of economy especially on cold and short journeys, you can clean the valve with brake cleaner once removed, but you will need to buy a new gasket as the old one will break or stretch when you take it off.
