You can take to Autozone and they will read the code for free. Without knowing the code you can't tell what problem is. good luck to you.

Where is the power steering pump on a 98 grandprix

If it has the 3.8L Engine, it is on the right side of vehicle on the back of the engine just below the exhaust manifold bolted to the engine block by two or three bolts..You will have to look hard for it. It is pretty well hidden, even hard to just check the fluid level on these models. Here is a link to a video that shows how to access the Power Steering fluid reservoir. -->> VIDEO

You don't necessarily have to remove the coolant reservoir to get there but it will help. i know this is for a 2005, but it is in the same place on yours.

TAKE IT TO A AUTO PARTS PLACE AND THEY WILL CHECK IT FOR FREE FOR YOU IT COULD NUMBERS OFTHINGS WHEN YOU AHAVE MORE THAN ONE SENSOR ON YOUR CAR ,I WOULD GET IT CHECK OUT TO SEE WHAT IT IS ,BECOSE YOU DONT WANT TO SPEND NO MORE THAN YOU CAN .IT WILL BE THE BEST THING TO DO

Check gas cap shows up on my 2005 Pontiac grandprix gtp, I replaced the gas cap and now have the same error code showing up. I heard the dealer does smoke testing, not sure what else I can do!

the new gas caps made by gm are nuts no more turning it with the threads it has to be put on the right way other wise the code will stay on i would take it to the dealer and have them put it on and reset the light for you to see if its a faulty gas filler neck trust me it looks likes its on but not on correctly
