I have a 1992 Toyota Camry 6 cylinder. I just replaced the water pump and all the belts. But when you turn the wheel there is a loud knock and screeching sound. Is it the power steering pump?

This is for an earlier year model, but is for the 2.2L engine.

You will have to remove the crank pulley, timing belt covers and timing belt, for best access. Unless it is fairly new, I would replace the belt wile you are at it.

Yes. That belt has to be very tight. If it looks worn or stretched it needs to be replaced. Adjust until there is 1/4 in deflection.

Yes, good thinking. the bottom pulley will be marked AT "O" and the cams will have a mark at 12 o clock. if they are AT 6 o clock, then turn the engine another revolution until they are at 12 o clock. there will be a mark to line them up to. Th ecrank pulley will have a mark, once all the covers are off. Be sure to replace all the components, water pump and pullies and tensioner. I like the CRP timing belt kits. TB257LK2

this year of Camry came with a 4 Cylinder and 6 cylinder engine both have a timing belt, which engine do u have? if this is a V6 also u MUST replace the water pump with the belt.

Do you have spark? Another issue could be timing belt. (It sounds funny when you crank it over with a broken belt)
