94 cutlass ciera Low traction light comes on and engine dies. new brake lines, front axles, alternator. battery dead. when u jump the car it will run&will cut out & is dead again. Hear pop in speaker?

Sounds like electrical problem. Could be the battery if it has an internal short. Get it checked and replace if necessary. If it continues to do the same thing then check the alternator ouput. Most autoparts stores will check both for free.

How much of a problem is it to change the timing belt on a '94 Cutlass Supreme 3.4L? I know the alternator is a pain.

this unit is not equipped with a timing belt. it has a timing chain. to replace the timing chain is a major undertaking. if you do not have mechanical experience do not attempt . take to a highly reccomended shop.

Replacing water pump on a 94 cutlas supreme instructions

CAUTION When draining the coolant, keep in mind that cats and dogs are attracted by ethylene glycol antifreeze, and are quite likely to drink any that is left in an uncovered container or inPuddles on the ground. 5. Remove the alternator and side bracket.
  6. Disconnect the water pump hoses.
  7. Unfasten the water pump retaining bolts, then remove the water pump from the vehicle. Remove and discard the gasket. Thoroughly clean all gasket mating surfaces.

Just got 94 olds with 3.4 ltr how realiable are

No major problems, they are a little harder to work on than the 3.1. The Alternator is in a real tight spot and they have a timing belt that needs replace every 90,000 miles. Even though you don't have 90,000 miles on yours, I would recommend replacing the belt if it hasn't been done. Just because it is 15 years old .

Cutlass supreme wont start

It could possibly be the starter, but before you get that far make sure the Battery cables are connected very tight. If loose the car won't start or do anything. Also make sure the battery cable is grounded.
