Most are screwed into into front cover just behind front pully, look for some wires coming from that area. It is possible it could be in very rear of engine where it can catch a signal from flywheel

the 4 cylinder 2.5L fuel filter located under the bed of the vehicle along the left side
frame rail.
the V6 and V8 fuel fuel filter located in the fuel pump module,on the top of the fuel tank.
There is a sensor that located on the right side of trans. that goes into bellhousing up close to the engine, it runs off the flywheel i think its the crank sensor but i'am not sure, i had a simmler problem with one i was working on, replaced that and it ran.
