I don't recommend you attempt this job uless you are trained in A/C repairs. This is specialised equipment, not meant to be serviced by unqualified people, the gas is very dangerous and can instantly freeze your hands or any part which comes in contact.
But you could source a good S/Hand compressor and have it install by A/C repairer and save some $.

How do I replace a/c compressor shaft seal ?

Have to know the compressor make & model

Has to be off vehicle, after you recover the refrigerant

So that is a job for a shop & they won't change any shaft
seal, you will get new or reman compressor

You can watch the videos on that

Need about a hundred dollars in tools, for every different
compressor, to do crank seal

The clutch on my air conditioner compressor went out. Can I tackle a fix by myself?

With the proper tools, a person can change the compressor clutch. Make sure you get the right clutch assembly and then it's a matter of getting the right tools to remove/install the clutch. I bought a set from Harbor Freight and it has served me well. I am not connected in any way to harbor freight and the same set of tools should be available form most any auto parts store.

Need to know how to install or repair air conditioner clutch on 2003 jeep liberty renegade.

I would recommend changing the whole compressor, rarely do I replace clutches anymore to much time and trouble and most likely the compressor is worn out anyway, but if you want to tackle it you will need a clutch tool to remove and install and you will need shims.

My serpentine belt broke, because the pulley where my ac is broke. There is a small metal guard on the outside of the pulley that went bad first, then the whole pulley itself went bad.

most likley the bearing in the ac clutch went out . on that year of a car you may be able to find a used ac compressor . you can change the ac clutch but there is some special tools you will need for that . u may be able to get from autozones loan a tool program

AC problem

Sounds like the bearing and clutch went out. Its best to replace the compressor, unless you got the tools and knowhow to chg. the clutch and bearing. If you just chg. out the compressor, the refregerent has to be drained out first, and then unbolt lines on back of compressor, and electrical wires, and belt, and bolts then remove. Put new compressor on in reverse order. But system should be vacumed be for its recharged with refregerent.

Unless you can find a way to route a different belt to go around all necessary pulleys without the a/c compressor, the only thing I can think of is to buy a junkyard unit and install it without freon, leaving the compressor clutch plug disconnected 'till you can get home to do the job right. Even if you need to buy the tools to do the job it's still cheaper than towing or a shop repair. Changing the compressor bearing requires special tools that you likely dont have in your back pocket!!
