SOURCE: location of block heater cord on my 2003 chevy silverado

MIne was on the passenger side inside the wire loom next to the shock. You can get to it through the fender well. It just looked like a ball of tape and only the plug itself was exposed with the rest of it doubled back on itself inside the loom. It was actually long enough to stick out of the front of the truck.

SOURCE: passenger seat heater not working in my 2003 volkswagen jetta

There should be a connector under each seat which connects power to the heating element. It is likely either clipped to the seat or tucked under the carpeting. You'll almost definitely need to remove the seat to get easier access to it, though it should be possible to find/access it without removing it, just more difficult. Once you find it, disconnect it. You can use any multimeter with a continuity tester to test the circuit. First, check the DC voltage coming from the wires that come up from the floorboard. If you are getting voltage there, you will want to check continuity of the element itself by probing the two wires with the meter set to it's continuity testing selection. If there are more than two wires you will need to determine which is the common wire and which are the "live" wires. With the power disconnected you can test the element to figure this out easily. For example if your heated seat has three wires, test all three for continuity in pairs. If one wire always shows continuity no matter which other wires on the same plug you touch that should be common.

If the element tests good (in other words you find that all the circuits show continuity) and you are getting power from the plug that comes from the vehicle itself, you might need to check the resistance of the element. It is rare to have a bad element that still shows continuity, but it is possible that the resistance may have for some reason become lowered and the element therefore does not heat up.

Try these and let me know how it goes!

SOURCE: I have a 1999 chevy silverado and I need to change heater core

Not a whole lot different. Just need to keep removing plastic down at the heater until you get to the heater core. Then disconnect it on the firewall side.

SOURCE: Where is the heater resistor.

Same problem. Solution #1 is correct. The 4 lower speeds use a circuit board with resistors on it to reduce fan speeds. High speed has no resistors. Half my circuit board was physically missing and burnt. This circuit board is mounted inside the the ductwork to keep them cool. It is indeed located above the passengers right foot, near the blower motor. From what I remember, the wires piggy from the blower over to this resistor pack. I bought a new one for about $30 at local auto parts store. Easy fix.

Chevy heater diagram1989 1500 p/up

That truck had two electric motors that change from hot and cold air and from vents, floor, and defrost. one is located on top or on the side (facing the seats, behind the center dash piece) of the air box in the dash, and the second is on the left side of the air box next to the radio module above the gas peddle. Had the same issue with my 88 Silverado and changed both. I dont think your problem is going to be the one near the gas peddle.

I have a 2003 chev silverado, 4x4 2500 both power seats and seat heaters stopped working at the same time, Looking for reason why, all fuses seem to be good. I was told to replace the 25 amp relay on

Ok I don't know who these people are giving advice but I hope they are not gm mechanics. There is a fuse under the hood marked MBEC 1 50amp. If it blows it knocks out both power seats seat heaters and power windows passenger side front and back. I can't believe all this wiring ****!

2003 2500HD , SILVERADO. WHEN YOU TURN ON EITHER THE BACK OR BACK&SEAT HEATER ON DRIVERS SIDE IT STAYS ON FOR A COUPLE OF SECONDS AND GOES OFF.PASS SEAT HEATER WORKS FINE. WHAT WRONG?

Hello and welcome. this almost always a bad seat heater element in the seat. the first thing that will need to be done, is have the seat control module scanned for trouble codes. also will need to check the seat heater elements resistances.

Heater fan not working . changed fuse and nothing Silverado 1500

you can test the motor with a multe tester with ohms capable, locate the heater motor and the wires feeding it there will be 2 find the plug and unplug it, using the tester probe the 2 wires with the red and black from the meter to the motor side, on ohms scale the meter should deflect close to full scale, with a digital it should read around 30 or have at least have a low number but no lower than 20 or so, if you get a reading your motor is probably OK, you can also use the meter in voltage mode and with the heater turned on you should read a voltage higher than 10 on the vehicular side of the plug, if there is no voltage there check to see if you have voltage at the heater fuse, if so than replace your fan control switch,,,good to go

Silveraldo seat heater comes on

Look under the seat. If you have power seats the wire for that will run right to the seat switch. The seat heat wire will run from the on/off switch to the heater element in the seat. It sounds like you need a new heater switch.
I hope this helps.
