Tying to put on a serpintine belt

Normally this is a simple job. You have a spring loaded idler that holds tension on the belt. You put a 3/4 breaker bar in the square hole and lif up and slip the old belt out, taking care to note the threading path of the old belt. It is usually pictorially found on a decal on the radiator near the idler. You thread the belt around the pictured accessories leaving the idler last, pick up on the idler and slip the belt under.

My serpentine belt fell off and i need a diagram to look at

Generally there should be a decal affixed to your car under the hood. It will show a scketch of the belt routing. It is a standard equipt decal installed when the car was built. It maybe on the inner hood or somewhere sticking to the inner skirt or radiator cover in the engines compartment

Hello, does anyone have serpentine Belt routing diagram for 2000 taurus?

It is going to depend on which engine you have 24VDOHC or the push rod 3.0. Here is a possible link. There were few changes from 200-2003.

How to change serpentine belt on 97 laSabre

On the underside of the hood or on the radiator shroud there should be a decal showing the routing of the belt for the engine that came in the car. The tensioner pulley (should be designated on the decal) will need to be moved to remove the old one and to reinstall the new.

2001 Chevy Impala Serpintine Belt Diagram

There should be a decal on the underside of the hood or on the radiator shroud showing the belt routing for the engine that came with the car. There are many variables for equipment and the variations will be shown on the decal. There should be an engine sticker also showing the emissions information.

Replace serpentine belt 96 town & country, also does the tensioner ever freeze up?

Any bearing mounted pulley can "freeze" if a bearing wears out. The most common result it it can burn up a belt which will break with the engine running. When it snaps it MIGHT damage anything it hits - usually with no bad results. ANY bad pulley (or pulley driven part such as the alternator) needs to be replaced before a new belt is installed or the new belt will be damaged from the friction. To replace the serpentine belt - there should be a belt routing decal on the underside of the hood or on the shroud covering the radiator.

you need to find your decal on the underside of hood or on the shield above the radiator cooling fan.

Figure 2: Typical Vehicle Emission Control Information Decal for California Vehicles

Figure 3: Typical Vehicle Emission Control Information Decal for Canadian Vehicles. In addition to the tune-up specifications and procedures, the emission decal shows a color-coded (shown in black and white) schematic of the engine vacuum system. The color coding on the schematic represents the actual color coding on the vacuum hoses. However, there will be instances when a hose color does not match the color on the decal.
Decal Location Typical location of the decal will be on the underside of the hood or the radiator support sight shield.
