You don't need to remove any bolts to remove the rear shoes with a drum brake system. Can you post a pic of what you are doing?

How do i adjust the brake caliber to fit over the new brake pads

ok well since you didn't say front or back brakes
FRONT CALIPERS just push the piston back with big pliers
REAR CALIPERS you have to turn the piston back in there is a special tool for that (its a cube with different shape pins)
IMPORTANT make sure to have the notches on the caliper face at 12 and 6 o clock possition there are pins on the back of the brake pads to algin the pads or the brakes will DRAG and not stop correctly
hope this helps

Any special tools needed to replace rear disc brakes on a 2004 Pontiac Grand Am GT?

Yes. Rear disk brakes on all cars requires turning the piston while retracting.
There is always some sort of notches or holes allowing for some sort of tool to do this.
But you can always improvise something.
Or you can buy a universal kit for this from Harbor Freight.

How do I change the rear brake pads on a 2005 Pontiac Bonneville?

remove the caliper bolt, swivel the caliper up and slide off the rod. To push the caliper piston in to accommodate the new pads, you must get the tool to TWIST the piston in while slightly pressing the piston. Check with your local Murrays, Auto Zone for the tool loaner program. Gm W-Body rear caliper tool. Good luck

1999 grand am gt makes a loud noise

it sounds like to me the pads are draging on the rotor. when you stop the pads stay tuching the rotor. so if you had it done profesonally take it back. if you did it you self get some brake lube and aplay it on any moving parts
