Have you had the battery load tested? are the battery cables clean and free of corrosion and tight? Kragen auto and others will test the cars charging system and battery for free. You either need a new battery or the alternator is just starting to fail

Some of my guages work & some dont(the thing that keeps track of miles gone & the guage that keeps total miles, also background lights) on the dashboard, is it electrical or a fuse prob ??

several things could cause this, a connector on back of panel came loose, shorted wire rubbed through insulation. start with looking at gauge cluster panel.

I have a 95 Chrysler LeBaron. The Battery Guage won't move. Shows no voltage. I replaced the Aternator, and the guage still does not move.

Is your guage an Amp guage or Volts guage. Amp guages do not move unless there is a short to ground, the volt guage moves as the alternator charges and discharges. If you have a Volt guage more than likely you need to replace it.

What you have doesn't sound quite right, nor does the advice you are getting, though I don't think it would cause a short either.
I think the right way depends on what you want the amp gage to measure. If you want it to read the total output of the generator, you have to connect everything in the car to the other side (opposite from the generator wire). On the other hand, if you just want it to measure what current is going to the battery, then you put the accessory wires on the same side as the wire from the generator. I have made 2 diagram below. A volt meter is easy, and you can have both, if you like. A voltmeter just goes straight to the battery terminals if you want to know for sure that you are charging. You can use plain ground and the alternator wire, but then if there is a fusible link from there to the battery you are not always sure the voltage is getting to the battery. Well sounds like a fuel issue, pump or regulator. But to check the cat, simply drill a small hole, like the would fit a 1/4" npt fitting & use a regulor vaccuum/pressure guage to read it. Should be less than 1lb. of pressure at idle. 1.5 or more than there's a problem.

Electrical?

These sound electrical for sure. Almost sounds as if the computer is somehow getting a positive surge. Possibly a shorting wire somewhere.

I'd definitely take a look under the hood and see if there's any burn marks or corrosion (green/white powders) on the wiring. This could be a sign of a serious problem to come. Either way, if it's effecting that much, it's definitely shorting something.

daffodilnan, you could possibly check the fuse for the guage cluster, and the ECU. They could be loose and just vibrating on/off causing loss of guages. This should be located in the fuse box on the dash near the drivers door.
