Unit bearing is bad on one side or another. You have to raise the front of the vehicle, remove the wheels, calipers, rotors, everything down to the unit bearing. Turn both carefully by hand and you should be able to tell which one is bad.

When front end is jacked up should both wheels turn at the same speed

Yes that is normal for a front wheel drive vehicle. The power is applied to the wheel on the passenger side only until a given amount of wheel speed is obtained then the drivers side will spin at the same rate. Although if you raise the front of the vehicle and spin the tires by hand in neutral you should feel equal resistance. If the driver side wheel has excessive resistance to turning the wheel bearing may be to tight..

Why does the 4WD in part time wheel hop when turning but in full time 4WD doesnt do it on a jeep grand cherokee with select track & what is up with that death wobble

Hop when turning generally is caused by a bad (binding)axle joint on the wheel end.
Death wobble is most often traced to worn ball joints but can also be caused by worn tires, excessive play in any of the attachment arm bushings in the front end, worn (oblong) suspension to frame mount holes, or a steering box tearing away from the chassis. Sometimes it is a combination of excessive play in more than one item working together. Careful diagnosis (hands-on examination) is the only way to find and correct it.
Most often the steering stabilizer (sideways shock on steering linkage) is blamed for wobble but in reality it can be damaged by the wobble but nearly never causes it.

Service Engine light on, code is misfire..repaired 4 times, keeps happening, mechanic mystified never saw before...also "groans" going around corners/while turning, kept changing transmission...

Oh, if the car 'groans' around corners, many times this is a wheel bearing going out, not the transmission, especially if you had it rebuilt. One can check the wheel bearing for excessive play by jacking up the front end and wiggling the wheel at 12 o'clock and 6 o'clock positions and 9 o'clock and 3 o'clock positions.

What did the technician replace for the misfire code?

I have a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee. I have a Whining noise in my front end area, seems to go away when turning to the left. Also I have a strange clicking noise mainly under braking, but when you have the...

This noise is more likely caused by the iiner constant velocity joint. When turning the axle makes a franction of an angle in which no perpendicular to the ground. You'll gonna need to have it check as there is a possiblity that the wheel drum or axle assembly might come off when driving in high speed to avoid accident.

2004 jeep grand cherokee overland, 2.7 CRD, half to full lock, left or right, front end juddering and scrubbing tyres off

Sounds like it is in 4 wheel drive mode.
If you have a switch to disconnect the 4 wheel drive it may not be working.
If the vehicle is full time 4 wheel drive or computer controlled 4 wheel drive you have most likely a locked in full 4 wheel drive mode situation.
Not good on dry pavement.

Noise from front end more so when you are turning

You also could have received a bad axle. Sometimes the rebuilds don't hold good tolerance and can make the same noise you are trying to get rid of. Is it full-time 4wd? Maybe the driveshaft ujoint also.

4x4 light and knocking noise after driving

If you hear the noise after the engine is turned off that noise is most likely the exhaust system cooling down. As far as the light for the 4 wheel drive that requires a test be run with a special scan tool while the problem is occurring.
