Inside of your heater core is crudded up making heat transfer to the metal a slow and ineffective process. need to replace it, buy a repair manual or search on youtube for a video, after 1994 fords will all be about the same procedure.

Long time before heater blows warm air

That seems pretty normal, the heater works by blowing excess heat from the engine coolant. So the coolant has to be warmed completely for the heat to work, you can get a heater that plugs into your cigarette lighter that will heat the vehicle instantly.

Rear heating problem

Hi Jeff. I had the same problem, along with others on my 03 Denali. Along with not blowing hot air from the rear heating system, I had hot air blowing out of the passenger side and cold air out of the drivers' side vents. My battery would go low and had the same smell. I took my Denali in to the dealer and they found it was a bad Fan Control Module. They replace it and everything worked well after. It cost me $293 for parts and labor. Hope this helps.

I have a 2006 Honda accord and take along time for the heater to blow out hot air, but when it starts blowing out hot air it really works fine.I was told it might be my thermostat stuck open.

normall they stick closed not open ,depending on outside air temperature and wind chill try some cardboard in front of the rad to reduce the air flow

Heater does not get warm air

Check your anti-freeze level. 9 out of 10 times, it's just low on antifreeze. Your heater takes the heat from the warmed antifreeze, once the engine is warm, and blows the heat off and into the car. If the anti-freeze is low or the motor is cold you wont have heat.

Sounds like a possible broken/ripped/disconnected air line (hose) to the compartment.

Heater blowing cold air with coolant, fine with plain water

it sounds like the heater core is clogged bad if u know someone with a air compressor put a air nossel on it that you pull the trigger to blos air in to the heater core after you take the lines off i had to do this before on a jeep cherokee it did the job

After car heats up (slow to heat) it stil blows cold until moving

You have a circulation problem, heater core may have restriction that why heat only comes when you drive ,also you may have a thermostat that stuck in the open position. Good Luck
