Question about Hyundai Sonata
I just went to the Hyundai dealer for the same problem. I have an 06 Sonata GLS with 54k. The ESC light and ABS light would come on intermittenly. After starting the car, they would go away but would come on occassionally. Anyway, the tech checked the brake circuit and found one of the brake sensor was bad and replaced it under warranty. It costed me nothing.

There is a problem with one or both of the systems the esc uses brakes to correct positioning of car the abs detects wheel lock up unfortunately it needs to go to the scanner to see which system coded first

SOURCE: My ESC OFF/ABS lights come on
My car is having A similiar problem. If yours looses power like mine does, I've heard it's a defective stop lamp switch, which there is a recall on, and the dealer will fix for free. The recall ID# 09V122000 number to call listed with recall info #1-800-633-5151 http://www.automotive.com/hyundai/sonata/2006/recalls/t3-12-2-1/
