If the engine smokes upon fireup, but smokes no other time, then it's the valve stem seals. They are located under the valve covers. The rocker arms have to be removed and indexed so they are reinstalled exactly as removed, all the spark plugs removed, and an air compressor and adapter that allows air to be applied to each cylinder, one cylinder at a time..Screw in air adapter to spark plug hole, and apply air from air compressor.Whack the valve spring retainer with a rubber mallet, compress spring with valve spring compressor, carefully remove retainers, then remove valve spring and retainer.Pry off old valve stem seal, and install new one with appropriate size deep socket, reverse procedure to reassemble. There are 16 valve stem seals to change on the engine total.Good luck

You're burning oil, I've got the same problem with mine. It's not that big of a problem, just change the oil on time, mine has been doing it for years and there has never been a problem as a result.

93 gmc vandura 3500 box van won't start. I have power, installed new starter and ignition switch, but the starter won't kick.

Some vehicles Red (hot lead) have an inline fuse. Also check for other fuses for the ignition. If you have an alarm system, make sure it is disarmed. That can be done by using the key to open the down some times.

Truck getting too much gas. 94 GMC Sonoma. V6 engine. Black smoke out exaust. Plugs keep fouling out. I Changed everything fuel related plus computer under dash board. Truck not starting now. HELP.

Did you check sensors such as crank senors? cam sensor? knock sensor? or mass air flow? Could all be causing it to get to much fuel. Just had same problem on 1997 Chevy Lumina
