Question about Nissan Pickup

1 Answer

My pickup starts fine. did a tune up , put new wires, cap- rotor, fuel filter, spark plugs. When i drive or shift the gear, the car is jerking or when I'm driving on the freeway at about 80 km, the car starts to cut off power. Looks like the fuel is not going into the injectors. soon as i let go of the gas pedal it stops jerking. Then i have to drop the speed to 50 km or to the speed where the car runs smooth.

An EGR valve can cause these problems, i had same exact problem, so replaced the egr and problems were gone.

Car jerks when i drive and makes loud pop Toyota camry 89

Your going to want to make sure that you've kept up on all of your maintenance before trying to further diagnose this. Plugs, wires, cap, rotor, fuel filter. I misfire can result from fouled plugs, deteriorated wires, worn cap, rotor, or plugged fuel filter. Do a tune up if it has'nt been done in the last 90,000 miles.

Why does my truck jerks when shifting

Sounds like you should take a look at the spark plug wires, cap, or rotor.

If your car is jerking while you are driving it it will drive but it will **** sometimes and cut off and what is the basic parts you need for a tune up?

Spark plugs, new plug wires, distributor cap and rotor (if your car has them), pcv valve, air filter, fuel filter, oil filter, oil. Also check your belts since you are already working in there, they tend to wear out less often though.

5 years ago for cap & rotor???? It sounds like it's in dire need of a complete tune up - plugs. wires, cap, rotor, all fluids & filters ESPECIALLY fuel filter. I'd start there and run a good fuel system cleaner through it. Do your tune ups more frequently like every 30K - not wait 5 years!

it would seem you need to tune your car up.
I suggest spark plugs , wires and a cap/rotor kit , along with a new fuel and air filter.

What do i need to put a tune-up on my car

depends on how much you want to spend.

tools you need.....socket set with a 5/8 sparkplug socket, plug gapper tool, and the proper gap
parts you need, sparkplugs, plug wires, fuel filter, air filter. replace each plug one at a time, change plug wire at same time. there should be no other adjustments needed as its all controlled by computer.
