Check fuses /and power supply wires and if fan works and is not burnt out then maybe it is an engine temp sensor failure but check off easy stuff first.hope this helps

Over heating

If your vehical is over heating at idea it is most likely the radiator fan
this can be checked by running the car until it heats up and looking at the fan to see if it is running.
This usually isn't an issue as long as you are driving, but when you stop or driving slow or in traffic it will start heating up quickly. your fan keeps air flow going through the engine while at a stop to help cool down the engine compartment and pull.push air through the radiator

If you still over heat no matter if your driving or stopped it may be a thermostatic radiator valve that went bad. this is a release valve between the radiator and the engine that helps control the coolent flow between the engine and radiator and control how much heat is taken out of the engine to be cooled in the radiator.

So, run the car and see if the radiator fan kicks on. if it does, it's probably not a bad fan. if your car starts over heating and the fan never comes on it's most likely some problem with the fan

if it is turning and you are still having problems overheating go buy a new valve and change it out. cost you at most 5 bucks for a new one (probably less)

I have a 2001 4.7 SLT 2x4 Dodge Durango. Some time ago the car would overheat and spit water/antifreeze from the readiator cap over the battery. I replaced the radiator cap. A few weeks later, it...

if the fan electric fan is not comining on, you need to check the fan motor to see if your motor is bad on the fan. check it by running a hot wire directly from your car battery to the fan elecrtic plug.

My radiator fan runs in full after a long drive

Many cars have an electric fan that will run on after the car has stopped. This is because the thermostatic switch is still hot to allow the fan to shut down. Often the thermostatic switch is set into the engine block but the fan only cools the water in the radiator. Only when the engine block has cooled will the fan shut off and this can take some minutes

Radiator Fan Stays On

A simple test would involve disconnecting the fan switch while the fan is on. If the fan then stops the switch has failed. If the fan continues to run remove the relay , if the fan then stops the relay has failed.
Various inputs/outputs at the relay should be confirmed to be 100% certain something strange isn't going on.
Above all be careful of the fan itself , if it's running obviously but if it's not it could start during repair

Radiator Fan continuously running with engine off, discharging battery

It is not the fault: for long time Renault has that concept, that is to prevent engine oveheating when coolant circulation is suddenly stopped.

Radiator fan can continue to work up to 10 minutes after engine is off. You should worry about it only if it wouldn't stop even after 10 minutes.
