How do i remove lamp to replace it? Thank you

Hello there,
Please follow the steps below to be able to replace the lamp,
  1. Park the vehicle on a level surface. Turn off the engine.
  2. Remove the four pushpins located on the underside of the protective shield on the front of the vehicle. Remove the protective shield from the vehicle.
  3. Reach behind the front bumper area from under the vehicle to access the lamp housing.
  4. Remove the largest bulb socket from the housing by rotating the socket counterclockwise. Disconnect the electrical connector from the bulb by lifting the two plastic clips at the base of the bulb.
  5. Pull the burned-out bulb out. Replace it with a new bulb by pushing the new bulb directly into the socket. Reconnect the electrical connector to the socket. Place the socket back into the housing. Rotate it clockwise to secure it in place.
  6. Reattach the protective shield to the front of the vehicle by reinstalling the pushpins.
Hope this helped. Goodluck Elect_Comp

Trying to change the plastic cover over side mirrors to a new one how do you take the two mirror covers off to install new ones,Infiniti M45 sport 2007

The cover needs to be pryed off gentle, if it breaks then it doesnt matter if you are replacing it, its held in by plastic clips molded into the cover, you will need to use a small plastic wedge to remove the cover from the mirror. take a look at the new cover and you will see how its held on.good day.

Fuel tank shield on 2002 axiom is rusted out. Dealer said no parts available. Does the tank shield hold up the fuel tank or just add protection for off road driving?

the shield does not hold the tank in the car, if you take a good look you will see 2 straps that hold the tank in the car the shield is there to help protect the tank from rocks and things you might run over, they rust out because dirt and water gets on top of the shield between the tank and the shield and it can't get out, we remove the shields sometimes because if the car is not used off road much there is a lot higher chance of the tank rusting and developing a leak because of all the dirt and water that is trapped between the shield and tank then there is of the driver damaging the tank by driving over something.

Trying to replace headlights and cannot get cover off...

Hi there,

In order to replace the headlamp bulbs make sure your headlight is off. Firstly, remove the bolt from the headlight housing. At the back of the headlamp, pry up and remove the two retrianer pins to release the headlamp assembly from the vehicle and pull headlamp forward then remove the protective dust shield from the housing by turning the dust shield counterclockwise when viewed from the rear. After that, you can disconnect electrical connector from the bulb by pulling rearward and then remove the bulb retaining ring by rotating it counterclockwise.

Furthermore, remove the old pulling it straight out of lamp assembly. To install the new bulb, handle halogen headlamp bulb carefully grasping the bulb only by its plastic base and do not touch the glass ol from your hand which may cause the bulb to break. This way, next time you want to install a new bulb in lamp assembly, you can do that by pushing it straight in with the flat surface of bulb's plastic base facing upward. You may also need to turn the bulb slightly to align the grooves in plastic base with the tabs in lamp assembly.

Install the bulb retaining ring over the plastic base and lock the ring by rotating clockwise until it snaps into place. Then connect the electrical connector to bulb. Install the protective dust shield and lock the shield by rotating it clockwise until it locks into place. Also, carefully position the headlamp assembly onto the vehicle and hold the headlamp assembly snugly against the vehicle and install the retainer pins straight down to lock lamp into place.

Before reinstalling the bolt make sure the retainer pins are fully seated and install the bolt on the headlamp housing. Turn the lights on and make sure they work well and that they are aligned correctly. If you can do all these, that is fine. In any case you can not do this, then take the vehicle go to an auto parts store. I am sure they will be of help.

Good luck!

Need directions on how to change the starter on a 1994 cadillac deville

On a 4.9 v8 this is relatively simple

Step 1.... Before you get under the car, Disconnect the battery and look for the metal shield. The best way to find it is to follow the red (power) cable from the battery. It goes straight to the starer. You want to take out the metal shield, but you will only be able to take out the only accessable nut from the sheild from the top. The other will be from below (later). Take out the 1st connector/nut holding the shield. This should be located by the will see the metal shield is protecting the wiring from burning on the exhaust manifold.

Step 2...Then raise the car on the lift, take off the long / wide plastic shield under the radiator (allowing manuverability and you to see what you are doing). Then remove second plastic shield covering the starter.

Step 3...This will allow you to take out the 2nd bolt holding the metal shield (from step 1) protecting the wiring harness.

Step 4...Then you will be able to unfasten the wiring and bolts to remove the starter.

Step 5...Replace with the new starter, reconnect everything and bolt it ,etc. Dont forget to put all the sheilds back in place and make sure the wiring harnesses dont touch the exhaust manifold.

Step 6...Lastly, lower the vehicle, raise the hood and dont forget the nut on the metal shield !

Step 7...Reconnect the Battery

There is a plastic shield dragging underneath the car. What is it and how do I get it off?

hi this plastic shield is the dirt cover for the engine, this keeps stones and other things going into the engine and also keeps allot of the road dirt out of the engine and or components, i don't think it would be wise to remove it, your best bet would be to get it screwed back up again, these normally come adrift from the front normally the section connected to the front bumper/fender if however it has sustained allot of damage then it will need replacing, you can remove it by just unscrewing it from the rear of the cover, but as i said it may be better to repair or replace rather than not have it there at all, just jack the car up on one side, enough to get under, then just locate the bolds that hold it up, they should be small self tapping bolts depending on type of cover, as you also could have the push through clips, to remove them , get a very small screw driver in the center of the clip ( which looks like a black plug ) force the center through the middle, then the larger clip should just pull out....hope this helps

We are trying to take the water pump out of my 94 ford probe but there is a plastic shield that we cant get off????

Well, I looked at the drawings for all the motor sizes for the 94 Probe (you didn't post your engine size), and I think the plastic covers you are talking about is the timing belt covers...

Exploded view of the timing cover assembly for the 1.5L and 1995 1.6L engines-1995-98 1.8L engine is similar

If this doesn't look right then please post your engine size and I can post the correct drawing for you.

How do I replace the headlight bulb on a 2000 Ford Escort ZX2?

² Coupe
² Sedan/wagon
2. Open the hood and disconnect the headlamp wiring socket from the
in-line connector. This will make it easier to change the bulb.
3. Remove the protective dust shield
from the housing by turning the
dust shield counterclockwise (when
viewed from the rear).
4. Release clip and disconnect the electrical connector from the bulb.
5. Remove the bulb retaining ring by
rotating it counterclockwise.
6. Without turning, remove the old
bulb from the lamp assembly by
pulling it straight back out of the
lamp assembly and replace.
7. Install the new bulb in lamp assembly by pushing straight in with the
bulb’s plastic base facing upward. Turn the bulb slightly to align the
grooves in the plastic base with the tabs in the lamp assembly.
8. Install the bulb retaining ring over the plastic base and lock the ring
by rotating it clockwise until it snaps into place.
9. Connect the electrical connector into the plastic base until it “snaps”.
10. Install the protective dust shield and lock the shield by rotating it
clockwise until it locks into position.
11. Connect the headlamp wiring socket to the in-line connector.
12. Turn the headlamps on and make sure they work properly. If the
headlamp was correctly aligned before you changed the bulb, you should
not need to align it again.

My Cutlass Supreme S need diagram on installing starter.

I have a 3.4L engine and my starter is wedged in between the frame, oil filter, and then covered by A/C unit tubing headed to the A/C compressor.

Before I got started with the starter I personally had to remove the engine brace on the front of the car holding the engine in place to the frame (very easy) and laid it back on the engine. Then I removed the fans on my radiator and bracing sitting atop the radiator to help clear the way. I personally also had to remove some A/C tubing running to the A/C compressor of the car in order to remove the starter which was still running into some hose right next to the oil filter. So the A/C will have to be recharged afterwards.

Remove the little plastic shield covering the flywheel and some of the starter. Remove the 3 bolts holding the starter. Slowly work the starter out of its recessed hole being careful not to pull to hard on the hose right next to the oil filter.

Place the new guy in there and reinstall all components. Only this time you will need to recharge your A/C when you are done.

First remove the plastic shield covering the flywheel.
