Question about 2005 Ford Focus
Hi :) Usually in Fords this happens because they are not adjustable and have to be replaced. The lifters sit on the lobs of the cam shaft and have a flat end that gets indented from the round shape of the lob hitting it as it get more play in it the louder the sound gets so since the are not adjustable they have to be replaced. You can try thicker oil or put a cup full of Transmission fluid in the motor oil it will loosen the lifters and quiet them down.
