Question about 2004 Chevrolet TrailBlazer
If it is a 4.2 jack the truck up remove the driver side wheel along wiht the iner mud sheild. reach in and unbolt you will be removing the starter though the same hole you are reaching though. Ps do not forget to disconect battery.
make sure the bendex is in the correct position before you install or the wires will be a pain to reinstall. I had to do mine today took about 1.5 hours.

The Crankshaft position sensor is located on the left rear of the engine block below the starter. it has an oval connector and is held in place by one bolt. See picture of sensor below (some models has a 45 degree connector, most are straight like the one pictured below.
