I have a 1998 chrysler convertible sebring. My ignition is on the steering column. My question which is the off position. It's making me crazy. Son thinks I'm leaving in acc. Help please

most ignition switches have the following positions in sequence
off, accessories, run start
you insert/ remove the key when the switch is in the off position
acc position allows radio , stereo phone etc
run is where the engine is running, start is the last position and is where the engine starts and runs
normally you have to move it back to the off or the key will not lock the steering and will not come out of the switch

Engine Cranks But Does Not Run !

No injector pulse while cranking. The engine only starts with start fluid. With the engine running the engine seems normal.

If you have no pulse at crank position, but do at the run position. Replace the ignition switch.

2005 Dodge Grand Caravan 3.3 Starts but won't run

Sounds like the vehicle has a ballast ignition, which supplies a full voltage to the ignition when the engine is cranking and drops through a resistor when the engine starts. Sorry can't give the location of the resistor?

1993 p30 m0torhome no fuel pressure no prime with ignition in run position

The fuel pump only runs for exactly 1 second when the key is turned to the run position, then the computer shuts it off unless the engine is being cranked over with the starter or it is running of course. If you wish to prime the system repeatedly turn the key to run and then off again until engine starts while holding the accelerator pedal to the floor to help purge air from the injectors.

Car starts, then dies within 2or3 seconds.

Try this start eng and before it dies disconnect the starter solenoid, and hold the ignition in the crank position like you are starting it, if the engine remains running replace the ignition switch, they come apart and cause this issue
