I have a 04 Honda Accord and there is a whinning noise when I hit the gas. I was told that the transmission is going out. Is there something I can do to reverse the effects or even slow it down?

My 1991 honda accord is a stick shift and when i'm driving sometimes it sounds like something is grinding and a repair tech at AAMCO told me i needed a new slave cylinder. does this sound correct

well i hope he is.. cause there are many thing that will cause that, for example the grinding noise from the transmission is a broken gear in the Gear box. (transmission).. The only way to be sure is to actually observe it our selves which we cant. In this case i would advise you trust the tech and if needed get a second opinion. However if you can answer these question we should be able to help.

is there any other sounds or vibrations while driving ??
where is the sound coming from ?? (what part of the car like left side front wheel)..

does the rims get hot ??
is there a clacking sound while turning left or right hard.
is the noise constant and increases with speed ? (if its this one chances are its a wheel bearing)

1992 Honda Accord LX Automatic stuck in drive, slow to go.

You have an internal transmission failure, have a transmission repair shop look at this and be prepared to have it removed for repair and rebuilding.

I HAVE A 04 HONDA ACCORD 2.2 DIESEL, THERE WAS A NOISE IN THE ENGINE BROUGHT IT TO DEALER, I WAS TOLD IT WAS A TIMING CHAIN AND THAT IT WAS A PROBLEM WITH ACCORD AND THAT HONDA WOULD PART COVER IT AND...

Dont think Honda Motor Company would cover it on an 04 plate anyway, so get a second opinion from another Honda dealer, dont think it will need all of those parts either unless Honda have modified all of them which is unlikely

2004 accord, noise after shifting car into reverse and stepping on gas.

mcdevito75 here, It"s possible you have a broken engine mount, the mounts keep the engine on the chassis of the car, when ever you shift the transmission it cause the engine to move just slightly, but with a broken mount the engine can move up to 3--4 inches, specially when you give gas cause the engine components, Alternator or exhaust system, (pipe, Catalitic converter) to hit the chassis or other engine parts causeing a noise. Best Bet, let your local repair shop take a look as this small problem can become big.

Hi - I am having problems with my 04 honda accord ... the malfunction indicator is flashing... can anyone help? I am told it might have to do with the O2 Sensor. How do you fix that?

Make sure the gas cap in on TIGHT. The cap may be on snug, but make sure you turn it until you hear at last three clicks (indicating the the cap is TIGHT).
