Is the water circulating? could be the water pump not working....is it leaking water?? A head gasket is around 40.00 but the labor could be anywhere between 600.00-1000.00 depending where you go repair it

I changed the thermostat in my 91 plymouth sundance and my car is still overheating and the reserve tank is spitting out coolant

You change the head gasket

The spitting is cylinder pressure or combustion
gases blowing out coolant

My chevy impala keeps running hot eventhough the radiator and the fluid isn't getting hot. But after running for a short period of time or trying to drive for a short period the car runs hot and c

I would start by checking the fluid to make sure it's at the proper level, Then check to see if the thermostat is opening like it should. If you have good flow and you get heat inside the car but the car still overheats I think I'd be checking for blown head gaskets and head warp.

My heater on my 95 ford windstar blows cold air not hot what is it

Thermostat and change your radiator cap, if your adding antifreeze alot than it may be a blow head gasket. I was loosing antifreeze out my tail pipe, tried fiberlock http://www.autozone.com/autozone/accessories/K-W-Products-32-oz-FiberLock-head-gasket-and-block-repair/_/N-255s?itemIdentifier=249495 and it worked. Make sure your upper and lower hoses are good and not squishy. I did the thermostat the radiator cap and hoese and I got my car working. I have 224,000. on my windstar and still going strong. And windstars are not know to live lone because of there head gaskets. Good luck.

94 camry xle 6cyl changed thermostat changed hydraulic fan new radiator cap and new coolent and it still overheats once the guage reaches a little over half way then it gets hot real fast what do i do

Softly418 had this problem...........

This could result from a thermostat which is stuck closed (but you have a new one), or a failed coolant temp sensor not allowing the radiator fans to run when they should, but I think you have a blown head gasket. Overheating is a classic sign of combustion gases getting into the coolant. The pressure also forces it out of the overflow.

Warm up your engine a little, about half, and remove the radiator cap by putting a towel over it first. Then let the engine keep idling until hot while you look down the filler neck into the radiator......carefully.

If you see white bubbles like dry ice, that is a failed head gasket. If not, have a mechanic do a test for combustion gas in the coolant with a gadget like this

1996 Honda Passport overheated. Heater started only hot air when moving, then would go cold at stops two days ago. When it overheated today, a lot of steam came out of the radiator cap. I noticed the...

Ususally when the heater blows hot air only when the car is at hight RPM is because low coolant in the system. It sounds like a bad thermostat . In the worst case you need to do a diagnostic check to the head gasket. Because the first thing to get blowen out when the car over heat are the head gasket.

TEMP READING HOT BUT RADIATOR IS FINE. COULD IT BE A FAULTY THERMOSTAT?

Could be, need to check all hoses as well . if you think thermostat you can pick one up cheap enough and change it out, if left without fixing you could cause much bigger problems such as blown or cracked heads. I'd spend less than $50 and save yourself the major repairs.

Ive put everything new on my 626 and it still runs hot

the engine may have a leaking head gasket, to eliminate this possibility a reputable auto repair shop will use a device that attaches to the radiator cap it has a blue fluid in it that will change to yellow if any combustion gas is present in the cooling system passages indicating a blown head gasket. Try the alumi seal product sometimes that works.

Dirty radiator, inside. First try flushing cooling system. If that does not work, Have radiator removed and rodded.
