Isuzu 3.0 LE 4JH1 Engine not starting, got diesel to the pump if i squirt quickstart in aircleaner it starts. People tell me the injector pump needs doing ? i would like to know what is the box bolted down on the injector pump, immobilizer? computor? any way to bypass

SOURCE: diesel engine wont start will

i had this problem and again it was narrowed down to the immobiliser. however it wasnt exactly the immobiliser it was the immobiliser coil. it sits around the key slot and it is the radio part that check the chip inside the key. got mine replaced and it starts first time every time now. it cost £35 to replace.

Not really familiar with this vehicle, but being a 2004, probably does't have an injection pump.Probably a common rail, with a hight pressure oil pump. Best to have it checked by qualified diesel tech as replacing parts can be time consuming and expensive.

Diesel engines with faulty injectors, poor compression, poor valve seats etc can develop an appetite for starting fluid. Only a thorough investigation of the engine condition will sort these problems. Do this before you do anything else because diesel work is expensive.

you mix the HV wires?. up.
you;d have to tell what engine you have, first.
In the USA? open hood, look up, see EPA sticker that tells what engine you have.

The 4JH1-T is a 3.0 L OHV direct injection engine, turbo intercooled which replaced the 4JB1T in the Faster/Rodeo pickups. This vehicle was sold as the Holden Rodeo in New Zealand and Australia. On some models it features an electronically controlled injection pump. Stock power was 120 hp (88 kW) and 245 N·m.

diesel engine have small starter helpers called glow plugs that heat the combustion air so that it can self ignite the diesel fuel
reasons for hard starting are
slow cranking speed---battery not charged enough or not big enough to do the job
injectors squirting and nit atomizing--- take the car to an accredited diesel pump/ injector repair shop for tip replacement and adjustment
the check engine light could be from faulty glow plugs
keep the fuel tank full ,especially in cold climate as there is hot return fuel from the injectors that causes condensation in the tank--water -- and that promotes the growth of a fungus which damages the pump and injectors
use diesel fuel condition on a regular basis to prevent that condition or keep the tank more that 3/4 full to stop condensation occuring

I have a 96 on p 3.1.it felt slugish and starte 2


I rekon yer turbos gone on the inlet seal side , pop the pipe from the aircleaner off and see if the turbos shaft moves up n down - engine stopped.
