These have bearings in them and they are more than likely shot! and will need replaced before the thing comes apart.

My Echo makes a squealing noise randomly when driving & airconditioner is turned off?

Your serpentine belts tension is loose or the belt is going hard. Check the tension on the tensioner pulley and condition of belt.
The belt is slipping on your accessory pulleys when a load is placed on them such as power steering, alternator and clutch fan.

2001 intrepid makes a ratleing nois were the timming chain goes

well if you know its making noise from the timing chain then its probably time to replace the chain and chain tensionors and chain guides, the tensioners and, guides are more likely to make that type of noise but if you havent replaced the chains it would be a good idea to do it all at once

The engine in my automatic '91 Integra intermittently makes a loud squeaking noise...it sounds to be coming from the left side of the car under the hood. It is not the fan/fan belt, as the noise...

are you sure its not your fan belts? because if fan belts are not turning, it means that the engine is off. check if the tension in your fan belts are still ok. if not, have it re tensioned. if noise is still present, have it changed.

Could be a timing belt tensioner.
But you did not say if this is a turbo, 16 valve, or 20 valve?
The 20 valve engine did have camshaft problems worth examining for,

Sounds like fan belt noise but, the fan belt looks solid..no cracks etc...doesn't scream on start up..it seams to be a steady sqweak emitting from the fan belt area. Bearing problem?

If your belts are in good shape and tension is proper, you should take off the belts and srin each pulley or tensioner that turns with the belt. I think that you will find that a bearing is going bad. Try to do this when the engine is cold for that will usually make the noise more pronounced.

Squeeling noise near fan belt on cold mornings. It would go away after the engine would warm up. It is now getting worse.

Normally a squealing noise like that _is_ the fan belt. It will certainly be one of the belts, check all your belts for wear and tension, replace/re-tension as necessary.

Bad metal-ratling noise from engine-car died after.

They have been known to have pulleys lock up. Check the pulleys and the serpentine belt for tension. Good luck
