When you first turn on the key to run...you should hear the fuel pump "cycle" for a few seconds...if this is true, yur relay is good. There is also a wire off of the fuel pump relay, I think it is taped to it, that if you apply battery positive, your pump should run.

2000 GMC JIMMY What controls turning on fuel pump

The pump is powered by the relay. The relay is grounded by the computer. It gets a ground signal for the first 3 seconds, then only if the computer sees oil pressure or RPM to know the engine is running.
You should be able to ground the relay and run the pump for several minutes. After 30 seconds you should be at max pressure.
Normal pressure is 15psi for a truck that has throttle body injectors such as a mid 80s model, and 65psi for trucks that have port fuel injection like yours.
You may have the wrong pump.

Fuel pump powerless all relays and fuses are good fuel pump is new engine runs with fuel in throtle body possible security system involvment maybe hidden relay cant find.

Hi,
First - look around the engine bay for an electrical item with a red rubber top. If you find one - press it hard. Often manufacturers fit fuel cut-off switches as a safety feature. - You hit something or roll - it stops pumping fuel everywhere. They can trigger slowly by themselves over time - or with a slight knock at the front.
If it is not this - then it may be part of an immobiliser circuit.
Try another key to start before serious delving.

Under the hood in a black box. You sure it's fuel problem? Will it start if you spray carb. cleaner in the throtle body?? If it is a fuel problem, It's probly the pump.(in the tank.)

Fuel injectors not working

i suggest you do three things: 1) get a noid light and check that the proper signals are being sent to the fuel injectors to insure they are being told to fire 2) spray some starting fluid in the throttle body and see if it starts. if it does, the problem is fuel related. if it doesn't, you have a spark problem 3) do you hear the fuel pump come on for a few seconds when you turn the key to "on" but not start the engine? if not, check the ground wire for the pump located between the gas tank and rear bumper.

good luck.
