Start with the basics. Does it have spark? is fuel getting to the engine? Is the fuel old? (Drain and replace fuel)

4.0 S TYPE CRANKS WON'T START

The first thing i would check would be the fuel pressure, the gas being sold now a days eats away at the fuel pump and makes varnish build up in pump causing the pump to go bad.

A fuel pressure gauge is needed for this test, it connects to the fuel rail and give you a reading and i would bet there is no or very very low pressure.

Jaguar x type battery dead

What year and engine size is this 2008 jaguar x type?

Are you sure the battery is good, did you have it tested, next if battery is good and you can see bright headlights when you turn them on then i would look at the fuses, if you jump started it you may have blown a fuse.

when you say no ignition what do you mean? are the dash lights coming on when you turn the key?

Is the problem that you have no knd of power to car or every thing lights up but nothing happens when you try to crank engine, or does engine crank (SPIN OVER) but not start up ?

let me know the answers to these questions and i will help you. good day

My 2002 Jaguar xtype want start I turn key ova n everything *** on but the car want start I don't here anything but everything else works as it should

Next to your battery you will see the outer fuse box. Check the main fuse cartridge for the "engine start". Your manual will show you exactyly wich one. This is ussually always the problem. If it is good then its your starter. disconnect the battery and check the leads first for tightness and try it again before replacing it.

2002 s-type jaguar replaced battey 4 times in 2 years still will drain battery

Buy a cheap voltmeter at someplace like Harbor Freight, for less then $5.
Check the voltage. Doesn't matter where. Can be at the ciragette lighter or across the battery itself.
Should be 12.5 normal.
Drop to 10 when starting, back to 12.5 at idle, and 13.5 when revvved up.
Over 14 volts is bad also
If that is all ok, then not alternator.
Take off battery terminals and clean them, grease them, and while one terminal off, check for current across the gap. With everything off, should be tiny. The radio and clock should be the only things drawing power. Turn on parking lights to see what a real drain should read, probably several amps. If you have a significant drain all the time, you need to disconnect things untl it goes away. Pull fuses, etc., one at a time, looking. Could engine compartment or trunk light, etc. Very last thing I can think of is that I believe this car has a batter heater for cold weather. But it could overheat the batter if malfunctioning. Are batteries going dry?

Jaguar Xtype navi routing not working

I had the same problem. What you need to do is clear the waypoint locations from the system. To do this hit the "nav" button, get to destination menu and locate the waypoint icon and touch. Delete all waypoint locations shows up at the bottom. Touch button, which will delete all waypoint locations and it will work again. Just to be safe, I cleared all of my stored locations including previous destinations

2001 Jaguar S-type won't start

Check if your transmission really is in park. I once had the same problem and it was fixed by moving the stick in and out of the park stand for a couple of times. Then the red light illuminating the "P" came on and i could start again.

Has to do with the transmission cable that tends to get a bit loose.

Battery needs jump start if car is not driven for 3 days.

u either have a shorted cell in the battery or the system has a current draw like a glove box light being left on, try disconnecting the battery the next time you leave it, if it starts ok then u have a current draw and need to find the source of that draw.

2003 Jag S-type-Blinking dash lights

The long story short it probably your battery being dead or a computer glitch (if there is nothing else apparently wrong with the car)
One is the battery life of an older model jaguar is going to be short compared to newer models. I noticed I have problems with my battery going dead around the 6 th year of the cars life since then a bunch of silly issues. One thing to know is if your car doesn't start it (even if your lights work) is that your battery is to low for the ignition to work (which requires high voltage). You can try removing the batter than re attaching it back to the car.
I have these issues typically when i don't drive for long periods of time in the winter (mostly). The car contains a big gigantic computer (which a lot of owners do nt realize) controlling everything weather you can start the car or not (it has a security system still armed) so when the computer is not working properly or the battery is too low (and their are no other apparent reasons). I would suggest trying a few suggestions on the jaguar forum because its very specific but you would be surprised how stupid the issues end up being. Flat bed a jagaur to any dealership and your already in the hole for 150 plus.
good luck
