Question about Chevrolet Blazer

1 Answer

I have a 2002 Chevy Blazer. It died driving down the road. I thought I was out of gas. I have since replaced the coil, the rotor and cap on the distributor. I have spark. I used a fuel pressure tester and I am getting 100 lbs of pressure at the top of the engine. The engine cranks, but does not kick over. It appears as though it has no gas. I think it has to do with the injectors. It is a CSEFI type system. I am thinking it might be the Fuel Pressure regulator or the Fuel Meter Body. With none of the injectors working, I am thinking it is either a voltage missing, a bad Fuel Meter Body, a bad Fuel Pressure Regulator, or the ECU. Any suggestions would be helpful.

First will it fire with the aid of fuel inducet to the engine? There will be a breather hose attached to the intake near the throttle body. remove and use a carb/ throttlebody cleaner spray, have someone crank the engine and spray into the hole going into the throttlebody using the straw that the cleaner comes with. if it fires then the engine is not getting fuel. fuel pressure should only be 60-66 psi. Sounds like you have a faulty Fuel injector spider assembly. The regulator IS replaceable, you have to be VERY careful if you want to try that first. the assembly is plastic type of material and gets britle.and brakes EASY along with the injector lines. I will usually just replace the whole assy. as if it is not the problem and the injector is you have to go back into where you already were again.

1999 chevy blazer not starting

Check the plug wire from the ignition coil to the distributor cap.
If you haven't already, replace the distributor cap and rotor.
The GM Vortec's have issues with moisture getting inside the cap and rotor and causing problems.

Check dist. cap and rotor and replace. Just fixed one last week. Rotor was causing a misfire under load and coil contact to rotor was worn out down too the cap. Graphite dust from the center contact in cap was all over the rotor causing a misfire. $25.00 in parts or less. While you are there replace wires and plugs. Autolite ap25 plugs 2.99 each

2002 chevy blazer 4 door 4x4 wont start when cold or rainy out but will start when the suns out and warm. Any ideas?

This sounds like a bad distributor or sparkplug wires. i would replace the cap and rotor and wire, a matter of fact just do a complete tune up. thye problem is the coil wire is shorting out when its damp or wet out and also you may have mosture in the dist cap.

Turn on the key and listen by the fuel tank for the fuel pump to hum. A common problem is low fuel pressure. It will build pressure when the key is turned, use that fuel, and then the pressure drops. Kind of like when you're using a squirt gun that's getting empty.
