Sometimes a bad battery takes whats called a surface charge the dies fast when not being recharged by the car charge the battery and drive it to the local autoparts store ask for a load test most places do this free then youll know if its a bad battery or a short in your car.....you could also try charging the battery while the leads are unhooked from the car the stop the charger for about two hours and then reconnect the leads and try to start it would also tell you the battery is no good

My 2010 Acadia has a hard time starting. Sometimes barely turns over. Is it the starter or the alternaror. Just replaced the battery and it didnt make a difference

Remove the battery leads and clean posts/contacts. with a wire brush. Clean the connectors on the end of the wire in a similar manner. Rub contacts with Vaseline. Wait two hours, put key in the ignition and reconnect the battery.

The alternator only charges the battery. If it is faulty, the Red battery light will come on.

The starter may be weak, but they usually work, or don't work.

Charge the battery overnight with a battery charger to make sure the battery is full of charge.

If it still does it, you need an auto electrician and a battery stress test and the output of the alternator checked. My thought is dirty contacts and low battery charge.

Car intermittantly shuts off and won't restart for an hour or two

I owned a 1988, Oldsmobile 88, that did that. after several hundred $ of "repairs" - It was that pump IN the gas tank that had gone bad.

2009 corolla dies shortly after starting. Won't restart for several hours.

The next time it fails to start, you will need to narrow down the possible causes of no spark and no fuel by checking for each.

What's draining my car battery?

it could be the radio wasn't hooked up right and doesn't turn off when the car is off. Or you could have a broken or chaffed wire somewhere grounding out. either one will drain a battery rather quickly.

no. I'd suggest to disconnect a battery for 15 mins, reconnect, wait for 5 mins and try to restart. If it doesn't help (sometimes there's a program block to prevent stealing equipment) call a dealer

Engine quits and won't restart

Very possible it may be control module. If you have no engine codes, than you can rule out any sensors. Usually if anything electrical is going out, it will set off engine codes. Have you replaced the fuel pump relay? Checked all vaccum hoses, check compression for gasket leaks?
