Have fuses and new bulbs but no brake lights if headlights are on

Have you checked all fuses ? Might also want to check for power in/out from the fuse panel to the tail lights.

The brake lights on my JGC2002 will not come on whenever I press the brake pedel. I have replaced the bulbs but don't know what fuse to check and what other things I should look for.

you can check all the fuses with a test light, you should also check the brake switch with a test light to make sure power is going through the s located at the base of the brake pedal rod were the pedal pushes against should have power on one side all the time and no power to the other side of the switch only when the pedal is pushed.its a 2 wire switch.if the signals are working for both sides then the wiring from front to back is good.

the problem is with the bulb, what is happening is when you push your brake pedal with the lights off you are turning on you parking light side of you bulb, when the lights are on the parking light is already lit up so when you push the pedal you see no change. try a new bulb

Brake Light doesn't work when headlights on

Have you tried replacing your brake light switch located under the dash on the brake pedal or it could be a short in the wire. You need a test light and unplug your brake light hornance from the bulb have someone step on the brake pedal touch the light to the hornance and see if your getting electrical current back there

Sounds like your brake light switch needs to be replaced.  It is attached to the brake pedal and should cost you around $20 from an auto parts store.  If the fuses and bulbs are good there is a 99% chance it is the brake light switch.  Hope this helps!  Thanks for an honest rating and for using FixYa.
