Question about 1994 Subaru Impreza

1 Answer

Earlier in the week my fan for my heater/airconditioner stopped working but the car ran fine(still not working). i started my car and it seemed dim and got a couple blocks and it died...i replaced my battery. it ran for two days before it lost power and died again. i replaced the alternator. after the installation of the alternator i let it run for a bit to charge the battery back up. then drove it into the parking spot and turned it off (probably to soon) went to restart it and it died. jumped it and then let it run for a bit more and then it started to act like it was out of gas(and its not). was suggested that it was a fuel filter. It seams weird that everything seems to be going wrong at one time. i dont want pay to replace the fuel filter or pump if there could be another reason it would be acting like its out of fuel.--------oh and the car alarm that i thought was disconnected and is not-- keeps going off.

Hi, I wonder if your blower has a short and is causing the battery to draw down. Do you have a voltmeter you could use to troubleshoot? I will look up the wiring diagram to see what I can figure out.

well, that was a dead end, as there is not enough current available in the heater circuit to stall the car. Can you check the voltage at the battery with the engine running?

Hi, my radiator fan comes on as soon as i start the car. Alos when i switch on the airconditioner the fan stops working..theres 2 fans actually and only one works.. dont know what might be the problem

one fan is for a/c and the other is for the rad.the a/c fan will come on if the a/c is turned on or if the heater mode is on defrost.this is normal operation.turn a/c off and change mode to anything but defrost.now no fans should be on.

The starter on my 1995 saturn sl2 stopped working i can still push start the car but in the same day the heater fan and cooling fan stops working but then starts working again when the fans don't work the...

You have a electrical power shortage, when componets demand power it's not there [ that's why some componets slow or stop working ]. Start by cleaning the battery terminals and testing the battery to see if it holds a proper charge [ after fully charging, let the battery sit for a few hours and check the voltage = it should be at least 12 volts. If not, replace. Then check the output of the charging system = mininum of 13.8 volts to maxinum of 15.3 volts, & up to 78 ampress when @ maxinum charing. Then check the starter draw = should be around 260 amps, if it's higher then 300 amps. then replace.
