Question about Saturn Vue

1 Answer

There is a clicking noise for about 3-4 seconds that repeats 2 or three times during my ten mile drive home. It seems to come from the doors as if the locks were going on and off. This happens while I'm driving, and when I park and lock using the inside button on the door, the horn sounds about five minutes after I leave the car. It can be stopped with the remote unlock fob. This started two days ago after a hard rain and some rain got into the driver's side door which may not have been tightly closed. Is there a reset method for this problem?

Our 2001 Mazda MPV doors are not locking. Before, we were able to lock all doors just by locking manually locking from the inside on the driver side and using the remote keyless entry. Now, when we try...

The clicking you hear is the vehicle asking for the program sequence to reprogram the locking system. Apparently something threw it out of sequence, ( a battery change , jumpstart, voltage spike , etc). The programming sequence that mazda uses is really kinda crazy. I was able to locate the sequence to try. If it does not work have the dealership flash the pcm, (another word for reprogram the powertrain control module). Here is the sequence:
1) Get in MPV with ignition key, and all fobs for the vehicle.
2) Close all doors and remove ignition key if it is in ignition.
3) Open driver's door
Note: Steps 4 and 5 must be completed in under thirty seconds.
4) Repeat the following three times
a) Insert ignition key
b)Turn ignition switch to on and then to lock
c) Remove ignition key
5) Repeat the following three times
a) Close driver's door
b) Open driver's door
Locks should all lock and then unlock within a couple of seconds--you'll hear the clicking sound
6) Press any button two times within five seconds on fob being programmed.
Locks should again lock and unlock
7) Repeat step 6 for all other fobs being programmed. When done with last fob, wait a few seconds and then you should be done with the reprogramming. Each fob should now work for this vehicle.

How do set the lock remote for a 2001 Honda civic

Try this:

KEYLESS ENTRY PROGRAMMING

Have all remotes for the vehicle on hand.

Make sure all the doors and rear hatch/trunk are closed during programming.

Only need to use 1 remote to get into program mode but all remotes must be programmed during the same session.

Each step must be completed within 5 seconds.

1. Sit in the car with all doors/trunk tightly closed

2. Turn the key to the ON position, marked by "II" on the ignition bezel so the dash lights come on, then within 5 seconds press the "Lock" button on the remote for 1 second or so and release the button.

3. Turn the key to the OFF position, marked by "I" on the ignition bezel - dash lights go off.

4. Repeat steps 2 & 3 three more times (A total of 4 times) - each step must be done within 5 seconds of the previous step.

5. Upon the 4th turning of the key to "ON", press the lock button on one remote, the locks will make a cycling sound (clunk), locks will NOT lock or unlock at this point, they will just make a noise. The system is now in programming mode. Do not turn key off.

6. Within 5 seconds of entering programming mode and within 5 seconds of each other, press the lock button ON EACH remote you are programming, for a second or so and release. This step needs to be completed within 10 seconds. Each time a remote button is pushed, the locks should cycle. Up to 3 remotes can be programmed.7. Turn ignition completely off and remove the key. Step out of car and close door. The remotes should be programmed and should work. If you have a trunk/hatch release, the button for this feature needs to be held for a few seconds before the trunk/hatch will "pop".

I just got another remote for my acura 2002 rl. How do I program the second remote?

I believe the common process for programming Acuras should work for you. The below is the process. Good luck

1-Gather all remotes for the vehicle on hand. You only need one remote to get into program mode but all remotes must be programmed during the same session. The car will "forget" previous remotes everytime it is reprogrammed. 2-Sit in the car with all doors/trunk tightly closed. 3-Turn the key to the ON position, marked by "II" on the ignition bezel so the dash lights come on. 4-Listen for a quiet click, and then within 5 seconds press the "Lock" button on the remote for 1 second. 5-Turn the key to the OFF position, marked by "I" on the ignition bezel so the dash lights go off. If you hear a quiet click in the dashboard after turning switch to "I" then the entire process must be restarted. 6-Repeat three more times (for a total of 4 times). 7-Upon the 4th turning of the key to "ON", press the lock button on one remote, the locks will make a cycling sound (clunk), locks will NOT lock or unlock at this point, they will just make a noise. The system is now in programming mode. Do not turn key off. 8-Within 5 seconds of entering programming mode and within 5 seconds of each other, press the lock button ON EACH remote you are programming, for a second or so and release. Each time a remote button is pushed, the locks should cycle. Up to 3 remotes can be programmed. 9-Turn ignition completely off and remove the key. 10-Step out of car and close door. The remotes should be programmed and work. If you have a trunk/hatch release, the button for this feature needs to be held for a few seconds before the trunk/hatch will "pop".

Mini Cooper Transmission Relearn Procedure

If the gear selection display on your Mini Cooper has an x before the gear selected,

like xP or xD or xR, then you need to run this procedure.

The usual cause of this is a dead or disconnected battery for a long period of time.

First make sure you have a good battery that will hold a charge or fix the charging

system problem.

Get the car someplace where you will be able to drive for a mile or two without

interruption on a fairly level road.

Follow ALL steps and don't skip anything.

Clutch Adaptation

1. Begin with a cold engine and start the car. Shift to N for 10 seconds, then shift

to D for 10 seconds.
Shift to P. Display says xP.

2. Repeat the following ten times. Shift to N for 3 seconds, then shift to D for 3

seconds.
Shift to P. Display says xP.

3. Repeat the following ten times. Shift to N for 3 seconds, then shift to R for 3

seconds.
Shift to P. Display says xP.

Step-up Ratio Adaptation

1. Accelerate vehicle to a speed greater than 80 km/h. Don't be afraid to go above

the redline on the tach for a few seconds. At this point the car may buck and snort

a little as it tries to get into a higher ratio. As soon as it settles into a higher

gear and the revs are above 4500, rpm let off the accelerator quickly. Don

PROCEDURE:
1. For first time training, press and hold the two outer HomeLink buttons, releasing
only when the HomeLink indicator light begins to flash after 20 seconds.
NOTE: Do not perform this step when training the additional HomeLink buttons.
2. Position the hand-held transmitter 1-3 inches away from the HomeLink mirror,
keeping the HomeLink indicator light in view.
3. Using both hands, simultaneously press and hold both the desired HomeLink button
and the hand held transmitter button.
DO NOT release until the HomeLink indicator light flashes slowly and then rapidly.
When the indicator light flashes rapidly, both buttons may be released. The rapid
flashing indicates successful training and the procedure is complete. This also
indicates that the garage door opener does not use rolling code technology.
Note: The garage door may open or close during this step.
Steps 4 through 7 are only necessary if the HomeLink button appears to be
transmitting after step 3, but the garage door does not operate.
4. Press and hold the trained HomeLink button and observe the indicator light.
If the indicator light is solid/continuous, training is complete and your device should
activate when the HomeLink button is pressed and released.
If the indicator light blinks rapidly for 2 seconds and then turns a solid/continuous light,
proceed with the following training instructions for a rolling code device. A second
person may make the following steps quicker and easier. It is recommended that a
ladder or similar device be used to obtain access to the motor housing. Do not stand
on the vehicle to perform the next steps.
5. At the garage door opener receiver (motor housing) in the garage, locate the “learn”
or “smart” button (usually near the hanging antenna wire attached to the unit). If
there is difficulty locating the training button, refer to the garage door opener’s
manual.
6. Press and release the “learn” or “smart” button (the name and color of the button
may vary by manufacturer).
NOTE: Once the button is pressed, there are 30 seconds in which to initiate the
next step.

7. Return to the vehicle and firmly press and hold the trained HomeLink button for two
seconds and release. Repeat the “press/hold/release” sequence up to 3 times to
complete the training process. If successful, your garage door should open or close
during this step.
If the vehicle owner continues to have difficulty programming their HomeLink mirror,
please have them contact HomeLink customer service directly at 1-800-355-3515 or
www.homelink.com for further assistance.
PROCEDURE COMPLETE

Good luck!

BMW 7-Series - Key Remote Programming

Method 1:
1. Working from within the vehicle and with the doors shut
2. Turn ignition to position 1 and back to off within 5 seconds.
3. Remove the key from ignition and press and hold the unlock button for 15 seconds during this time press the key lock button 3 times within 5 seconds.
4. Release both buttons.
5. Doors will lock and unlock to show correct programming has occurred.

Method 2:
To do this procedure you need to have one working key and one key that needs to be programmed.
1) Get in and close all doors.
2) Turn on the ignition and turn off quickly. (No more than 5 seconds) to start the process. Next action must take place within 30 seconds.
3) Remove the 1st key.

Method 3:
Alternate if you do not have a working remote
1. Turn key to position 1 five times very quickly 2. Remove key 3. Hold unlock button then press lock button 3 times, release unlock button.
