This could be a neutral safety switch problem.

the ignition key switch is going bad try jiggling the key around in the off position. make sure the chrome thumb wheel is lined up with the key. my '95 has been like this for 5 years and I can always get it to shut off (unless the headlights are on, the it will not stop)

Engine will not turn over in "Park" 1980 K5 Blazer

Sounds like the neutral safety switch is worn out. You can try jiggling the shifter around in Park while trying to start. If it will start then, you have confirmed the problem. You might even be able to adjust the position of the switch a little. It has been so long since I dealt with one, so please don't ask me how to go about it.

You have to remove up your gear shift Knob and solve the problem of the micro switch on park position, I have same problem but I dont have time to solve it,

Locked ignition. Can't get car out of park or turn ignition switch. Ignition is locked up.

you will most likely have to replace key cylinder. remove cowl around steering column, upper & lower, remove plastic cyl around key, you will need a paper clip to remove key cyl. small hole near back of key cyl, install paper clip end pushing down turn key cyl, to run position, jiggle key cyl to remove. auto parts store should have replacement. good luck

sounds like the key is still in the on position. put in park and jiggle the steering wheel and try to turn the key back to the off position. that will allow you to remove the key. of course that doesn't address the no start issue. check the normal things, battery, cable end connections for tightness and freedom from corrosion, etc. no lights sounds like either a faulty battery connection or a drained battery.

Remote starter

Apparently the vehicle was in park enough to get the key out, but not enough to get it to turn to start or allow the remote starter to work. Once it had been jiggled around and put ALL the way into the PARK position, all works well again!

Key won't go into the ignition

This is exactly what happened to my truck last night. The steering wheel moves freely. I had a hard time putting the key in the ignitition. The ignition will not turn. Neither will the shifter. It seems like it is not in park but then how did the key come out? My car is a 2004 Chevy 2500HD. Did you even get a solution to your issue?

95 Bonneville won't start when hot

Yes I know, but If you hold the accelerator pedal to the floor on a fuel injected car, the Throttle position sensor will tell the computer to enter clear flood mode. Then the computer will shut off the fuel injectors while you have the pedal to the floor. If it is flooded, you should be able to get it started in clear flood.

Cant get my key out of the ignition of my 95 Deville

Keys and Locks when worn will do this as will duplicate keys made not so perfectly. While keeping mild pressure on the key in the direction of removal, jiggle the steering wheel back and forth vigorisly. If you cannot get the shifter into park in oreder to remove the key, same deal, jiggle rapidly. Then see a lock smith

Good Luck!
