One of the wires to an oxygen sensor on your exhaust manifold has a break in the insulation and it is shorting against part of the metal frame of the vehicle. The oxygen sensors look a bit like spark plugs set into the side of the exhaust manifold. I think I am right in saying that on the V6 dodges there are 4 such sensors One on each exhaust manifold before the catalytic converters and one after each catalytic converter. Check them all but I think the code is for the second sensor (after the catalyst) on bank one (the bank of cylinders closest to the radiator). The cable attached to each oxygen sensor has four wires within it, two to power the sensor heater (the need to be warm to work) and two for the oxygen sensor element.

P0700 Transmission Control System Malfunction OBD-II Trouble Code Technical Description Article by Dale Toalston ASE Certified Technician Transmission Control System TCS Malfunction What does that mean? Many vehicles have a control module for the automatic transmission called a transmission control module (TCM). The engine control module (ECM) communicates with the TCM to monitor the automatic transmission for faults. If the TCM detects a fault in the automatic transmission and sets a transmission related fault code, the ECM is informed of this also and sets a P0700 in the ECM memory. This illuminates the Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) to let the driver know there is a problem. If this code is present and the MIL (Malfunction Indicator Lamp) is illuminated that basically means there is at least one transmission code set in the TCM's memory. P0700 is an informational code only. It doesn't point to a direct fault in the engine, only a general fault in the transmission. More diagnosis is necessary to identify what the transmission fault is. This requires a scan tool that will communicate with the transmission module. Symptoms Symptoms of a P0700 DTC may include: Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) illumination The transmission may exhibit drivability problems like slipping, etc. Causes More often then not, the cause of this code is that there is a transmission problem of some kind. The TCM detected the problem and set a code. P0700 means that a fault code is stored in the TCM. However this doesn't rule out the possibility of a failed PCM or TCM (unlikely). Possible Solutions For a P0700 the only real solution is to acquire a scan tool that will communicate with the transmission control module. Extracting this code from the TCM will be the first step in repairing the fault in the transmission. If the TCM compatible scan tool will not communicate with the Transmission Control Module then that is a good indication that there may be a fault with the TCM itself. I have 2 codes showing on my 2004 chrysler sebring.? P2096 AND p0137. what do they mean and how do I know what parts to get to fix the problem.

P0137 O2 Sensor Bank 1, Sensor 2 Voltage Low
P2096 Down Stream Fuel System Bank 1, Sensor 2 Lean

There are 3 possible engines in your vehicle, a 2.4L 4-cyl, a 2.7L V-6, and a 3.0L V-6. If your car has a 4-cyl then there is only one downstream O2 sensor. This is where you need to start the diagnosis for code P0137.
While it would be nice to assume that the sensor is faulty, the sensor wiring between sensor and PCM could be the problem as well.
That said, you are looking for a DOWNSTREAM OXYGEN SENSOR. I strongly advise that the replacement be OEM compatable. Avoid Universal Replacement types that use **** connectors to make them work.
Good Luck!

No spark at king lead, computer says codes 12, 54 and 55 1997 dodge grand caravan

this is what your check engine light was telling you. code 12 battery input was disconnected within the last 50 key-on cycles. code 54 no camshaft signal detected during engine cranking. code 55 completion of fault code display on check engine lite. hope this will help you!! note: camshaft sensor is located in distributor on 3.0liter engine and on a 3.3liter and 3.8 liter engines its located next to the thermostat housing.
