If it is the axle seal, the you will need to pull the axle on the side that is impacted/leaking. The seal will come out, you will need to get a seal puller, and then you can put the new seal in.

You will start off by chocking the wheels, jack the impacted side up, remove the wheel, and you will have access to the CV axle nut, it is going to be a large nut 30-36mm, you will have to find out exactly what size it is. Take it loose, then take the tie rod end loose, and the lower ball joint. At this point you will be able to take the wheel assembly off of the lower ball joint and remove the CV axle, by pulling it out of the transmission.(Please note that some of the CV axles have a carrier bearing support that is in the center, and that will need to be removed as well to remove the axle.). The seal puller can be picked up at any auto parts store, and they may even loan it to you, if not they are under 30 dollars.

Transmision fluid leaking on ground what would be the problem?

Depends on where it's leaking from. Could be a bad hose going to the cooler, could be a bad fitting at the cooler, could be the front seal on the transmission. You need to clean the underside of the car real good and then park your car over some cardboard. that way when it drips, you can figure out about where it's leaking. Could also be leaking from the fluid pan due to loose screws or a failing gasket.

I have a 2000 ford taurus with Transmission Fluid coming out of the dip stick. can i fix this myself or do i have to take it in?

There is a transmission vent tube on top of the transmission, & when the vent tube sticks shut, it causes trans fluid to come out of the dipstick (path of least resistance), and/or, the trans pan gasket. This is a common issue w/ the 2000 Taurus. To resolve puncture the trans vent tube.

I HAVE a 2000 taurus with trans fluid leaking out of cover between oil pan and bell housing. what is it

Hi,

This will be coming from the front transmission to torque converter seal.
The transmission will need to come out and it will need to be replaced.

Thanks

I think my transmission went out. It does not go into any gear.

Check the fluid while running the engine. If it looks full the trans is shot if not moving. Transmissions are all hydralic with seals to creat pressure. It can be a bad seal or plain wear on the clutches

My transmission is leaking fluid. Where can it be leaking out of

Could be leaking from transmission line's , pan, front pump seal if it's leaking between engine and transmission, or input shaft seal's. where c.v shaft's go into transmission.
