Sometimes if your car is under warentee, you have to have the service done to keep the warentee in effect. If this is not the case, you can get a list of the 60k reccomended services and inspections. Some of the services you have already performed, the rest you can do or have done. A lube shop can change or check fluids, you can buy and change your own cabin air filter, lube door hinges, ect..Then take your car to a mechanic that you feel comfortable with, for anything that you can't do yourself.

It really depends on the dealership.. if it is a reputable dealership than im sure they can be trusted.. the main thing for hyundais 60,000 mile service is the timing belt change. and tensioner. if you feel you maintain your vehicle well and dont want to take it to the dealership to the timing belt and tensioner your self if your capable, or take it to someone you trust to have it done...

You might have an air lock in the fuel system. The lines from the injector pump possibly need broken loose at the injectors and cycle the fuel pump several times until nothing but pressurized fuel comes out.

Keep the serpintine belt, oil/oil filter, air filter, gas filter and transmission fluid/filter changed regularly. At 84k, check the brakes (front and back). I would look at changing the spark plugs as well. If it is running good, you want to keep it that way...good luck

Trying to trouble shoot why my performance is lacking or hesitating on my 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee Larado? It has had a recent oil change, new plugs, air filter etc. all fluids are normal and I have no...

Change the following:

oil, tranny fluid, and filters: air filter and fuel filter as well. Fill up tank and add 1 can of SeaFoam. Change spark plugs, wires, coil wire if distributor is present - as well as cap and rotor.

If coil packs are present, repalce the plugs and wires, air filter, fuel filter, and have the catalytic converter tested to make sure it's not plugged. This test will also let you know if the O2 sensor(s) are bad or not.

Please let me know if you need any further assistance.

NOTE: start with the cheaper: air and fuel filter. Then work your way up.

Normal 20,000 mile service, what is done?

T Normal 0 false false false MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 /* Style Definitions */ table.MsoNormalTable {mso-style-name:"Table Normal"; mso-tstyle-rowband-size:0; mso-tstyle-colband-size:0; mso-style-noshow:yes; mso-style-parent:""; mso-padding-alt:0cm 5.4pt 0cm 5.4pt; mso-para-margin:0cm; mso-para-margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:10.0pt; font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-ansi-language:#0400; mso-fareast-language:#0400; mso-bidi-language:#0400;} he 20,000 mile service is a minor service. This service generally involves an oil and filter change , tire rotation
and a safety inspection. While changing the oil, the mechanic will be performing visual inspections of the brakes, belts and hoses inspecting for any fluid leaks,, listening for any abnormal noises, and paying attention to any irregularities in the operation of the vehicle.
If you have your service at the dealership, have them check and perform any recalls on the vehicle.
Possible Repairs Needed at the 20,000 Mile Service It's not uncommon for your vehicle to need a brake pad replacement at this mileage, and on some vehicles the tires may need replacement.

Recommendations
  • We recommend considering replacement of the air filter every year or 12,000 to 15,000 miles.
Why this happens
  • If oil has contaminated the air filter, it should be replaced. Oil contamination may indicate a problem with the PCV system.
  • Air filters will need replacement more often in vehicles driven in dusty and sandy areas.

Change auto-tranny fluid

The best method is called 'Fluid Exchange" and is accomplised by a fluid transfer machine (very expensive). Call/go by your nearest Hyundai dealership. They can do it for you. If you want to do it yourself, you'll need the Hyundai specific fluid called 'SP III' (SP -w/3 I's) If you don't have this fluid exchange machine, best you have the technicians at the dealership do it. Here's the problem, you can't drain more than 3 quarts by draining the pan (Trans has approx 7 qt system). The majority of the fluid is in the torque converter (which does not drain)... that's why it's a fluid exchange process.
