If you can hear the pump running inside the tank right after it stalls and you turn the key to the run position, I'd be looking at the crank position sensor. If that fails, fuel will reach the fuel rail but the injectors won't fire. Also check cam sensor, pump relay and ASD relay in power distribution center.

I have a 1997 jeep grand Cherokee limited addition. that Stalls

Hi! I had the exact same problem with my jeep before. The wiring (located on the back wall on passanger side to the left) You will see three sets of plugs with a lot of wires on them. I had to get everyone replaced and the wires rewired and sautered together. My truck would backfire so bad it busted my muffler 3 times!! So, try that and I think it will solve the problem.

Hi...I think it is very possible that your fuel pump could be starting to go bad, which can go with or without notice or symptoms...yours seems to be giving you notice!

Here is a couple Auto Zone has that look like a good deal to me, but it's the labor charge to have it replaced that will hurt a bit!: http://www.autozone.com/autozone/parts/1997-Jeep-Grand-Cherokee-4WD/Fuel-Pump/_/N-j9koaZ8vcz2

Hope I helped you!

Sounds like your injectors are not getting any signal from the ecu. Have you checked to see if you have a check engine light that illuminates when you first turn the ignition to on? If no check engine light is lit on your dash, your ecu needs to be repaired or replaced.

1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo Sometimes when you hit the key it seems like the electrical system is dead. After letting it sit for awhile it will start and sometimes will die at idle.

need more info ? when it wont start are there any other electrical signs headlights int lights etc? if not it sounds like battery issue if it does could be mechanical ign switch in sterring column ? also has starter relay you can try swapping it with a less important relay like horn , look in the fuse BOX UNDERHOOD IT WILL SHOW YOU WHICH ONE IS THE RELAY AND JUST LOOK FOR ONE WITH THE SAME # AND DESIGN AND SWAP IT . GOOD LUCK

1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited Alternator issues?

have the alternator regulator and diodes tested. sometimes when the regulators fail they allow ac voltage to go to the battery. ac voltage doesn't charge the battery properly (causes it to deep cycle and shortens its life) and causes all sorts of funny problems with the car. also make sure the battery is secured properly, vibration isn't good for them at all.
