Hi

Check the transmission fluid level; if it's low, you have a leak. Look for fluids that have leaked on the ground below the transmission. Check the transmission case as well. Fluid can leak from seals, gaskets, fluid cooler and lines. Pinpoint the exact source of the leak to make proper repairs. Place a few drops of transmission fluid on a white paper towel. Red or light brown fluid that spreads easily over the towel is in good condition. Dark brown or black fluid that is gooey or thick fluid needs replacing to allow proper pressure and lubrication within the transmission.Replace the fluid filter to ensure it's in good working order. Check the old filter for metal shavings, which are a sign of wear and require a fluid flush.

Look at your check engine light to verify it has not come on. If the check engine is on, take the car to a mechanic who can pull the code and pinpoint the problem. Electronic transmissions can detect even small faults in operation, and you may want to drive the car to verify that the problem was not a one-time or erroneous error.

Seek the assistance of a professional if the car is no longer going into gear, slipping out of gear while driving or a substantial amount of fluid is leaking.

Isuzu Axiom 2002 will start relasing smoke after a 10 minute drive, and transmission light will flash on?

have a compression test done to test for ring condition. Have an oil pressure test done using a mechanical gauge to check for bearing condition.. If the smoke appears after idling ( waiting at lights ) then it will be worn valve guides and failed valve stem seals

If you're not experienced with this type of repair, I would take it to a local shop or trans specialist for the repair. It's complicated and involves removing the trans oil pan.

2002 isuzu axiom, transmission is dragging when changing gears

if you have 100k plus miles, have the transmission filter change and flush by the dealer with proper tools and equipment, don't go to regular home town garage, pay little extra to have the work done right especially when it come to transmission work. its also good idea to have the tranny flush every 75k if you want any automatic transmission to last. If the tranny need replacing then take it to transmission shop and not the dealer. Try the filter and flush first..good luck!!

Check transmission came on 4 days after getting an oil change

Check your fluid level. If that is good, take the vehicle to one of the Auto Parts stores that will read the fault codes for free and see what code is stored for the fault. This could just be an indicator showing it is time for service or could be something more serious. Once you get the code go in the parts store and buy the Haynes repair manual on your vehicle and look up the code to see if it is something you can get a part for and repair yourself or if you will need a shop to do the work.

Transmission Component Slipping (TCC Stuck off)

code p 1870 refers to transmission component slipping
That can be from dirty oil or a clutch pack or band slipping or low oil pump pressure in the transmission
you say that it occurs on highway driving after 2 hours and that slipping will add friction heat to the transmission oil bringing on the oil temp light
take it to an accredited transmission professional service center that works on your make of vehicle , have the oil changed which require the pan removal
at the same time that will allow the adjustments to be done
when reassembled and refilled , have a pump pressure test done
